Thinking Prophetically: The Choice Before Us – the Bridal Season or the Political Season

A Prophetic Word for the Political Season

Every so often, the body of Christ and Christians throughout the nation find themselves in a prevailing political season, grappling with concerning issues that can be a real distraction from the goodness of God and His promises. This evening, I heard the Father say the following –

What politics insists it can accomplish for you – the Father has already promised in full and brimming over with blessing, all predicated upon your faith, the very measure of faith that God gives every man. The political distractions, the fear-mongering, and race-baiting divisive influences on both sides of the political spectrum are all a multi-layered tactic of the enemy to draw you away from the threshold of the greatest breakthrough in life you’ve ever known.

In our society, Christians have shown themselves to be particularly vulnerable to the predations of the political and other falsehoods such as the Iraqi dinar scam, the Vietnamese Dong scam and other currency revaluation lies that many of God’s children have placed their faith in whereas had they put that very same faith in God and his promise they would have seen overwhelming and superseding blessing beyond their imagining.

The Father’s Promises Surpass the Pseudo-Messianic Claims of the Political Realm

The world is in turmoil; society seems to unravel at the seams, and many of us are feeling the tremors of fear and uncertainty. In these troubled times, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of political movements, economic anxieties, and the endless promises whispered by earthly powers. But the Lord is calling out to us today a clarion call that cuts through the chaos and reminds us of what truly matters.

The Delusion of Political Promises

Since the days of Ronald Reagan, the conservative wing of the political spectrum borrowed from the liberals a strategy of pandering to various people groups for the purposes of locking them in as a political resource to secure the vote and accomplish their agenda, which on Reagan’s part he made it clear even during his administration he had no intention of keeping the promises he made to the American church <informative link here>. Since that time, Reagan’s approach to taking advantage of the Christian demographic has become standard operating procedure for every conservative candidate going forward right down to this very day. Still today, we are bombarded with the pronouncements of politicians and their fervent pledges to solve all our problems to usher in a new era of prosperity, safety, and security. But friends, let us not be misdirected by these fleeting promises to the extent that our political fervor impinges on the depth of our faith and expectation of God’s promise, regardless of the political climate.

Politicians are masters of media and the spoken word. Chicago is called the “Windy City” because of the braggadocio of politicians in their efforts to influence the electorate and bend the various people groups to their agenda and plans. The truth is, as the scripture tells us, “For no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly venom” (James 3:8). Politicians, for all their bluster, are but men, susceptible to the same flaws and temptations as any one of us. Their promises are built on shifting sands, here today and gone tomorrow, just like the administrations they represent.

History is littered with the wreckage of broken promises that we could fill reams of paper elucidating, but that isn’t the purpose of this writing. Economic reforms that cripple the most vulnerable. Wars waged in the name of peace. Treaties signed and then violated. These are but a taste of the bitter fruit borne from putting our faith in the pronouncements of men.

God’s Promises: Enduring and Everlasting

But beloved brothers and sisters, we have access to something far greater than the empty promises of this world. We have the unwavering, everlasting promises of our Heavenly Father. Promises that transcend the limitations of human power and endure through all eternity.

In the book of Isaiah, the Lord proclaims: “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9). His wisdom surpasses our finite understanding, and His plans for us are far grander than anything we could ever conceive.

The Bible is replete with God’s promises to His children. Promises of provision: “And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Promises of protection: “For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). Promises of healing: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
These promises are not mere words; they are the very foundation of our faith. They are the unshakable bedrock upon which we can build our lives, our families, and our futures.

The Choice Before Us – the Bridal Season or the Political Season

The bride-groom of Song of Solomon calls us to COME AWAY, My beloved, says the Father behind the lattice of the natural into the arena of the spirit, and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth and inherit the promises certified to you not in the opinions of men or false promises of men but in the blood-soaked validity of the shed blood of Calvary says the Father.

The Call to Action: A Renewed Focus on Faith

So, what then are we to do? How do we claim the inheritance that is rightfully ours? The answer is simple: we must return our hearts and minds to God.

• Renew our Prayer Life: Let us devote ourselves to fervent prayer, a constant communion with the Almighty. In prayer, we surrender our anxieties, doubts, and fears and open ourselves to the rivers of His love and grace.

• Study the Scriptures: Immerse yourselves in the Holy Word. Let the Scriptures be your daily bread, your source of strength and wisdom. The Bible is the roadmap to a life lived according to God’s will.

• Seek Out Fellowship: Surround yourselves with other believers, a community that uplifts and encourages you in your walk with Christ. Together, you can stand strong against the world’s temptations.

• Live a Life of Witness: Let your faith shine brightly in the world. Be a beacon of hope, a testament to the transformative power of God’s love. Share your story with others, and let them see the joy and peace that comes from putting your trust in the Almighty.

The world may be in turmoil, but we, as children of God, have a promise. A promise of unshakeable peace, unwavering love, and hope-filled future. Let us turn away from the fleeting promises of men and set our sights on the eternal promises of our Heavenly Father
