The only difference between David and Saul is that David, in the final analysis, was a man after God’s own heart (1 Sam. 13:14). In truth, David, by some measurements, was a much greater offender than Saul ever was – the difference however (Praise God) was NOT outward measure but inward seeking. You are SO MUCH MORE than the outward life (with its failure, even sin) reveals. That inner quality of seeking after God tips the scales of God’s favor toward you in spite of the outward struggles.
