Your Calling in God is Paramount!

The most miserable people I know are those who miss their calling. In 41 years of ministry, I’ve witnessed the glory of God come down on people’s lives, and the call of God go out over them like Moses at the burning bush.

[2Pe 1:10 KJV] 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give the diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Then the entanglements of life, doubts, and questioning enter, and you find these people sitting on the sidelines of the purposes of God decades later, wondering what went wrong.

Esau is a prime example. He was the firstborn, yet he sold his birthright (apparently thinking that, in the end of the matter, it wouldn’t make any difference). When he realized what he forfeited, he tried to reverse engineer his bad choices, but it was too late:

[Heb 12:17 KJV] 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Don’t be this person. Be willing to step out and obey God. God isn’t intimidated by your capacity to make mistakes and outright “blow it.” In fact, your greatest blunders often turn into massive triumphs when you lay hold on the call of God no matter what pressures in life are pushing you the other way. Sound familiar? I know this territory very well (like, uh, “ask me how I know!”). God is here for you. It’s not too late. He will help you. Be encouraged!
