What You Prophesy to Others – You will Experience

In 1 Sam. 10, Saul, the son of Kish, was looking for his father’s asses when he met the prophet, Samuel. Samuel took Saul overnight and communed with him, and we know the story of how Saul goes on to be king in Israel. What is interesting about this initial encounter is something Samuel says to Saul when he is leaving the next day:

1 Samuel 10:5 … and you will meet a company of prophets (v. 6) … and the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

Do you see what is happening here? Samuel tells Saul upon leaving his house that he will meet a company of prophets on the way home, and in their midst, the spirit of prophecy will come upon him, and he will prophesy with the prophets and be “turned into another man…” This is a powerful statement that not only tells us something about Saul’s experience but something about what happens to us when we prophesy to others. Look at the following verse:

[1Co 14:31 KJV] 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

Do you see what this verse is saying? You may ALL prophesy. One of my mandates is to activate people in the prophetic. I know some prophets and apostles don’t like the fact that we do this because they think they only have the right to prophesy over the people. They treat the prophetic like their exclusive domain that no one else has the right to operate in. This is an error at best, a false doctrine at worst. 1 Cor. 14:31 says you may ALL prophesy. Just as you can speak in tongues (if you are baptized in the Holy Spirit), you can also prophesy. In fact, just as you can speak in tongues at will, you can prophesy at will (although few have grown into this).

What happens when you prophesy? Remember Saul – he was changed. The Lord spoke to me one day that what I prophesied to others I myself would experience. I was prophesying to a lady in New York City that Jesus was going to come and visit her in an open-eyed vision. As the words were leaving my mouth – a door opened in the wall next to me, and a huge being dressed in white stepped into the room facing me. The room filled with a blinding light, and just as quickly as He came, the vision disappeared, and I was sitting there on the phone. The Lord then said to me – “What you prophesy to others – you will experience…” I’ve learned that isn’t something exclusive to me – it is available to you as well.

Saul prophesied, and he was turned into another man. If you look at the wording there in the literal language, it means Saul was turned into a “further” man. What does that mean? It means he stepped out of what was in his person into the person he was destined to be. At that moment, he became on the inside the king he was anointed to be on the outside.

What about you? We look to the prophets to prophesy and, as a result, expect our destiny to manifest. The prophets tend to let us believe that because it keeps us coming back for more. What we need to see here is that the change and breakthrough that the prophetic brings come when YOU prophesy – not just when someone prophesies to you. It is in your best interest then to activate and cultivate the prophetic in your life. That is what our prophetic courses are all about.

What you prophesy to others you will experience. To those prophets prophesying an Ananias and Sapphira experience on those they don’t agree with, I suggest you think again. I’ve watched many prophets (I could name names) – prophesy death and misfortune on people and almost to a man they themselves sooner or later (usually sooner) experience the same thing. What about you? The word of the Lord is in your mouth – go out and prophesy and see what God does not only in the life of the person you prophesy to but in your life as well.
