Morning Light – Isaiah 18 Today: [Isaiah 18] Can’t We All Just Get Along? In chapter 18 of Isaiah the prophet speaks against the efforts of nations in the region to make treaties and agreements with them outside of His counsel. In modern times we have seen organizations rise such as the League of Nations and the United Nations and we wonder at their inability to get anything done. Billions of dollars are spent only to emphasize and demonstrate the impotence of such organizations to stem the world-wide bloodshed that seems to go unchecked. Isaiah warns that nations that confederate themselves outside of His counsel will come to ruin. Morning Light – January 31st, 2017 – Isaiah 17:  Who Are the 144,000?

Morning Light – Isaiah 17 Today: [Isaiah 17] Who Are the 144,000? In chapter 17 of Isaiah we find the prophet speaking against the northern kingdom. The 10 tribes to the north have called on their ancient enemies in Damascus to come against the city of Jerusalem. There is a great fear of Assyrian invasion and both the northern and southern kingdoms have forsaken trust in God and turned to foreign powers for help. As a result Isaiah predicts the 10 tribes to the north will be completely decimated and lost to history. This brings an interesting question then from Rev. 7 regarding the 144,000. If 10 of these tribes disappeared in captivity, being bred out of existence, then what does Rev. 7 refer to? … (click link or title to continue)

Morning Light – January 30th, 2017 – Isaiah 16:  Bringing the Lamb to the Lord

Morning Light – Isaiah 16 Today: [Isaiah 16] Bringing the Lamb to the Lord. In this chapter Isaiah continues his prophecy over the nation of Moab. The nation of Moab has been under tribute to Israel and Judah since the time of David but during Hezekiah’s day they have refused to bring tribute. Isaiah prophesies the destruction of the nation of Moab because the lambs and rams they brought to Judah were accepted as sacrificial offerings for them in the temple of God. Now that these offerings have ceased there is no covering for the sins of Moab. The lambs that Moab was commanded to bring represent the Lamb of God that we are to bring to the Throne in expectations of cleansing and forgiveness. … (click link or title to continue)
