You Have a Holy Ghost Security System!

With all the present unrest in the country, home security businesses are doing quite well. Did you know that the glory of God in you is your “Holy Ghost” security system? In Isaiah 4:5, we find a promise of the manifest presence of God in our midst:

Isaiah 4:5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

Remember the last time your security system went off? The last time this happened to me in the wee hours of the morning, I jumped out of bed, retrieved my Glock from the nightstand, and charged to the bedroom door like Starsky and Hutch. The only problem was the door was shut, and I ran face-first into it and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get into the hallway (still half asleep!). It was a good thing too because it gave me just enough of a pause to realize it was a weather warning, not an intruder warning. So I put Kitty, her granddaughter, and our two pets into the bathtub with the wind howling around the house and waited to get whisked over the rainbow and wind up in Oz!

I’m so glad in the kingdom there are never any false alarms. Isaiah tells us God creates upon every dwelling place a cloud of witness by day and a fire of protection by night. You are one of God’s dwelling places, as Paul makes clear in 1 Cor. 6:19:

[1Co 6:19 KJV] 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Those who live in high-crime areas sleep better at night when their alarm systems are on protecting them. When you realize that God is your defender, the writer of Proverbs declares you will sleep better:

[Pro 3:24 KJV] 24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

What is the lesson? Enter into the rest of God today. His cloud by day leads you, and His fire by night stands between you and every assault of the enemy. Rest in God. Trust in His protection. You aren’t left to your own devices. Someone – God Himself is looking out for you, and you can trust in His strength.
