Wrap Your Face in Your Mantle

Elijah fled from Jezebel and took refuge in Horeb. He had just confronted the 450 prophets of Baal and witnessed the Lord answering by fire. Now he despairs of his life and while in the cave an earthquake came, and a fire but God was not in these things. After this, Elijah hears a still, small voice and he wrapped his face in his mantle. Sometimes we are looking for God in the next, big thing but find God is speaking rather in the silence between our own thoughts. The face in the Bible represents your human spirit. The mantle is the anointing of God. What are you wrapped up in? There are many distractions around us but when you wrap your face in your mantle you will hear His still, small voice – and that – makes all the difference.
