Promise 66: 1 Peter – 60

1 Peter

The Apostle Peter was charged with the leadership and burden of the church in its infancy. He understood something about the concern, the needs of hurting people, and life’s challenges. In his first letter, he writes a simple admonition and encouragement:

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your care upon God, for He cares for you.

Some suggest that being burdened in life is a sign of spiritual immaturity. On the contrary, Peter acknowledges that cares and concerns are a ubiquitous experience for all of us – but the joy is we can cast all our care upon God and His Son Jesus, for He is ever faithful to care for us at all times. The word “care” holds a therapeutic definition that includes “anxiety.” When anxiety comes, you can feel helpless, but the one thing you can do through prayer is rolling it over on the Lord. You never have to suffer alone – He is there, ready and waiting to carry your load.
