Jesus is Your Wisdom

In the book of Proverbs, Solomon makes an effort to instruct us and give us the benefit of the enormity of the wisdom of God imparted to him. He began life as a young man void of understanding, but upon receiving the kingdom of Israel to superintend, he cried out to God for wisdom, and God granted his request. What was Solomon’s observation about this wisdom? We see this powerful statement in Prov. 4:7:

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Do you see what Solomon says here? Wisdom, above all else, is the principal thing that we are to get with all our getting. When you are under pressure as Solomon was in his youth, what do you cry out for? In the requests we receive through our ministry, we get a good picture of what a person’s priority is when the heat is on in their life. Mostly what they ask for is not wisdom but information. They want to know what the plan is. They want to understand and know what’s next in their lives. They feel as though if they could just understand, things would be okay but remember the following verse:

[Isa 55:12 KJV] 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap [their] hands.

Do you want to “go out” of the situation you are in? It isn’t going to happen with information or knowledge. Knowledge puffs up. How do we go out? We go out with joy, and we are led forth with peace. How does that peace come? By the wisdom of God imparted in a moment of time. Paul had this to say about wisdom:

[1Co 1:30 KJV] 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Do you see what Paul says? Wisdom is not a dataset. Wisdom is a person, and His name is Jesus. Jesus IS your wisdom. Jesus IN HIS PERSON is your wisdom, and He doesn’t live in your mind, He lives in your heart. The fact is you could have the IQ of a turnip, but if you have Jesus in your heart, you have all the wisdom you will ever need. Are you facing problems? In need of answers? Let Jesus be your wisdom today, and He will guide you where understanding, explanations, etc., will never go.

  • “Do you want to go out of the situation you are in? How do we go out? We go out with joy …” Wow! What a revelation. Yes, Wisdom is the chief thing. It helps us to approach circumstances and situations the way God Himself approaches them while finding and utilizing wise resolutions. I’m asking myself more and more: Is this a wise choice I’m making or foolish? Wisdom has discernment. Oh, how we need wisdom and to partake of her bread (doctrine) daily! Such a beautiful word you shared. God bless,
