Delivered from the Snare of the Fowler

Delivered from the Snare of the Fowler

Are you in a stuck place in life? Do you see no way forward or how to get out of the difficulty you find yourself in? God has a promise for you in Psa. 91:3:

Psalms 91:3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

It’s lovely to have a promise from God in the midst of difficulty, but the question remains regarding HOW God will move in our situation. This is important because the Father will seldom act without our cooperation. I remember the Lord telling me spouse this when she was in a difficult place in her life. She asked for change, and the Lord’s reply was, “give Me some cooperation, and I’ll give you some change.” Are you ready for a change? God will act but remember the Holy Spirit’s name is “Helper” and “Teacher.” That implies that the hand of God moves in our lives in tandem with our cooperation and willingness to learn.

When you are struggling and in the “stuck place,” the next verse in our Psalm gives you essential information:

Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

What is this verse saying? When God acts to bring you out of the enemy’s trap, the first thing He will do is COVER you. That means He will hide you. What do you know about walking in “hiddenness” with God? You need to cooperate with the Father in this. If you are going to be hidden, you also need to be quiet. If God is hiding you from the strife of tongues, it does little good if you won’t be quiet. Learn to go to the secret place in silence. Learn to be a gatherer of information and not a dispenser of information. Everyone and everybody doesn’t need to know what’s going on in your situation.

When you inform too many people about your problem, you create more problems both naturally and in the spirit. When many people around you are aware of your situation, their thoughts generate a screen of “white noise” in the spirit that makes it very difficult to hear from God. Be still. Be still and know. Get quiet and listen for God’s voice in the stillness between your own thoughts. The stillness of God is your shield and your buckler that will prevent the arrows of the enemy from finding their mark. Are you in trouble? No, you are not in trouble; you are in transition. You are transitioning from a place of vulnerability to the place of hiddenness in God. Cooperate with that and settle into that reality, and things will begin to change for you.
