In the midst of the storms of life, it is crucial to remember that every challenge we face serves a purpose. Just as we can discern the signs of changing weather, we must also discern the signs of our times. As we approach a new era in our nation’s history, it is important to evaluate the foundations on which we have built our lives. The cracks are beginning to show, but this is an opportunity for growth and transformation. Although we may face hardships in the days to come, there is hope waiting on the other side.
Recognizing the Storm Warnings: It is no coincidence that turbulence, natural disasters, and such life are increasing. These wake-up calls remind us to pay attention to the signs around us. Storm warnings have been issued to the church, calling us to prepare and seek refuge in prayer. The voice of the Lord is rumbling, and soon it will thunder. We must build storm cellars of prayer to seek shelter under the wings of God’s protection.
The Importance of Discernment: In these trying times, it is essential to develop discernment. The enemy may attempt to cause confusion and anxiety, but we have the antidote—a direct line to the Almighty. When faced with fear and panic, we are reminded to call upon the Lord, who is a stronghold in times of trouble. He knows those who take refuge in Him and will be our defense. Let us rise up and proclaim His name with confidence and trust in His protection.
A Word of Warning for Repentance: Disaster, tornados, earthquakes, fire, etc., may not originate in God, but they are nonetheless a call to self-examination and, yes, that dirty little word repentance (we all repented to become believers but loathed it so much we do very little repenting as practicing Christians). The urgent message highlighted areas such as idolatry, pride, and selfish pursuits. Similar wake-up calls are being sent to regions, cities, and nations across the globe. Will we respond with repentance and a desire to align ourselves with God’s will? This is a chance for transformation and restoration.
Exposing the Enemy’s Schemes: As we face the pressure of testing our foundations, we must be aware of the enemy’s tactics. A spirit of anxiety has been unleashed, followed by panic attacks and terror. However, we should not succumb to fear. Instead, we are encouraged to call upon the Lord, standing firm in His promises. Let us remember that God’s way is marked by whirlwind and storms, but He is also a stronghold in times of trouble.
Days of Hardship Leading to Hope: As we brace ourselves for the storms ahead—be it adverse weather patterns, economic recessions, or global challenges—we are reminded that these times of hardship can lead to days of hope. Darkness may cover the earth, but the Lord will rise upon us. His glory will appear, bringing light and restoration. Let us be prepared to share the hope within us and overcome anxiety through a revelation of the Father’s love.
Returning to Antioch: Restoring God’s Purposes: Just as we moved from one place to another in obedience to a prophetic act, we are being called to return to Antioch. This signifies a restoration of God’s purposes. Antioch represents a place where apostolic sending centers were established, and the authentic, original beauty of the church was restored. As the Spirit and the Word converge, we will witness the rise of apostolic team ministries, reclaiming the true essence of ministry.
Diversity in Unity: In Antioch, there was a diverse group of individuals united in their purpose. Today, we are called to embrace unity and reconciliation across different ethnic groups, fostering a multi-colored, multi-cultured church. Let us celebrate the diversity that enriches our faith and work together as one body.
The Power of Worship and Prayer: Returning to Antioch involves restoring the primary purpose of ministry—ministering to the Lord. We are called to worship with abandonment and offer our praise to the King. Prayer and fasting also reclaim their central place in our lives. The importance of prayer movements and vigils cannot be overstated as we seek divine intervention and guidance.
Listening to the Holy Spirit: Just as the early church in Antioch listened to the Holy Spirit, we are called to seek His guidance. Whether through audible voices, visions, dreams, or impressions, the Holy Spirit desires to lead us. Let us give the Holy Spirit all the credit, finding our identity and security in Jesus alone.
Separate Unto God: Before we can be called to specific ministries, we must first be separated unto the Lord. Our intimacy with Him is paramount. As we prioritize our relationship with God, callings, and commissioning will flow naturally.
Embracing Change and Unity: Returning to Antioch means embracing change and recognizing shifts in leadership positions. We must support one another and celebrate the anointing that others carry. Furthermore, we should focus on our older brothers and sisters in faith, the Jews, as they come to faith in Jesus and walk in authority. The oneness of the “One New Man” will emerge, demonstrating the power of unity and reconciliation.
Conclusion: In the face of life’s storms, we are called to weather them with hope, resilience, and discernment. As we discern the signs of the times, we must heed the storm warnings and seek shelter in prayer. These times of hardship are opportunities for growth and transformation, leading us to a great awakening. Let us return to Antioch, restoring the purposes of God, embracing diversity, and prioritizing worship and prayer. As we listen to the Holy Spirit, separate unto God, and embrace change and unity, we will witness the restoration and manifestation of God’s glory in our lives and in the world around us.
