Unlocking the “Suddenlies” of God: Pressing into the Pressure

The landscape of the prophetic seems to be shifting. Many voices we once knew have gone quiet, and the clarity of the movement feels clouded. It makes me yearn for the days of powerful intercessors like Bob Jones, Paul Cain, and Reese Howells – individuals who knew the weight of prayer and the importance of partnering with God.

This yearning reminds me of a crucial truth: our breakthrough often hinges on our willingness to “press in” to the very things that seem to hold us back. Think of Peter walking on water. He fixed his eyes on Jesus and miraculously walked! But the moment he shifted his focus to the raging storm, he began to sink.

We face similar storms in our lives – fear, doubt, uncertainty. But the key is to press into the pressure, not retreat from it. Keep your gaze fixed on Jesus, and you will break through into the kingdom. This is how we trigger “suddenlies” in God – those moments of unexpected acceleration and divine intervention.

We often find ourselves waiting for God to speak or act, but sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is act on what He’s already shown us. He has given us promises, directions, and dreams. He’s deposited gifts and talents within us. It’s time to step out in faith and activate them!

Remember the widow who gave Elijah the last of her oil and flour? She obeyed his word, even when it seemed illogical. And her obedience unlocked a miracle – her supply never ran out!

Obedience is the key that unlocks breakthrough. It’s about actively cooperating with God’s process. We can’t force His hand or speed up His timing, but we can certainly hinder His work through disobedience and inaction.

Think about it:

  • What has God already spoken to you? What promises has He given? What dreams has He placed in your heart?
  • Where are you experiencing pressure in your life? Is it in your finances, relationships, health, or ministry?
  • What step of faith can you take today to “press in” to that pressure? What action can you take, no matter how small, to align yourself with God’s will and activate His promises?

Perhaps it’s reaching out to someone you’ve been avoiding, forgiving someone who hurt you, or finally starting that project you’ve been putting off. Whatever it is, don’t wait for the perfect conditions or further instructions. Take a step!

This principle applies to every area of our lives. Just as God told me, “Things are the way they are because of what you’re doing,” He’s saying the same to you. If you want something different, do something different.

Take a risk. Step out of the boat. Press in. And watch God do the miraculous in and through your life.

Reflect and Respond:

  • What area of your life feels stagnant or stuck?
  • What promise of God are you waiting to see fulfilled?
  • What step of faith can you take today to “press in” to the pressure and trigger a “suddenly” in God?

Call to Action:

  • Pray the “sooner, not later” prayer. Ask God to accelerate His plans and purposes in your life.
  • Identify areas of pressure in your life. Where do you need a breakthrough?
  • Take one specific step of faith this week. Act on what God has already shown you.
  • Share your testimony. Encourage others by sharing how God has worked in your life when you stepped out in faith.

Remember, God is faithful. He is with you in the storm. Press in, and watch Him move!
