The Economy of the Unshakable: Why There Is No Crisis in the Kingdom

Someone once asked John Wimber if a Christian “could have a demon?” John’s eyes danced with merriment when he softly answered: “Doesn’t the Christian WANT one?” It’s the same way about problems. We don’t want problems, but sometimes they become the definition of who we are, and if a big problem isn’t dominating our lives, we think something’s wrong! The natural mind is addicted to the ledger of circumstance. We wake to reports of market instability, inflationary pressure, and systemic contraction, and theflesh’s  immediate instinct is self-preservation. We begin to budget from panic, plan from fear, and measure our tomorrow by the fragility of a dying world system.

It is time to remember who you are and where your citizenship lies.

The Kingdom of God does not trade in the currency of Babylon. There is no inflation in the Kingdom. There is no recession in heaven’s economy, and God’s treasury is never under austerity measures. The Throne is not taking an emergency recess to recalculate resources, nor is the Father wringing His hands over the price of bread. When you entered Christ, you were translated out of the jurisdiction of scarcity and into the government of divine sufficiency.

A Different Jurisdictional Reality

The world’s system is closed, decaying, and finite. Its outcomes are bound strictly to natural inputs: supply, demand, panic, and control. When that system shakes, everyone tethered to it trembles.

The Kingdom of God is open, generative, and inexhaustible. It operates not on consumption, but on the creative agency of the Logos—the spoken Word that brought worlds into being from nothing.

[Philippians 4:19 KJV]

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Take note of the preposition: Paul does not say God supplies out of His riches, as though dipping into a finite pool that can run dry. He supplies according to His riches—in proportion to the limitless glory of Christ Jesus Himself.

When Isaac sowed in the land of Gerar during a severe famine, economic theory dictated bankruptcy. Common sense said to hoard the seed and wait for rain. But Isaac’s provision was not tethered to the Philistine climate; it was tethered to covenant promise. He sowed in famine and reaped a hundredfold in the same year because he was functioning under a higher law of supply.

The Source Determines the Outcome

Your outcomes are not dictated by Wall Street, Federal Reserve interest rates, or the volatile shifts of local markets. Your outcomes are determined by the Kingdom to which you belong, accessed through radical, unhedged trust in the living God.

When you trust circumstance, circumstance dictates your ceiling. When you put your trust in Him, Kingdom jurisdiction takes precedence over natural law:

  • Crisis is replaced by Providence: What the world labels catastrophe becomes the exact backdrop where God displays His governing authority on your behalf.

  • Deficit is replaced by Multiplication: The five loaves and two fish did not multiply because the disciples calculated a better distribution model; they multiplied because they were placed into the hands of the King.

  • Anxiety is replaced by Rest: Rest is not the absence of pressure; it is the presence of absolute confidence in the Father’s character.

Shifting Your Stance

Stop seeking permission from the natural order to thrive. Stop waiting for the world’s indices to stabilize before you obey what God told you to build, give, or steward. The earth is the Lord’s, the fullness thereof, and the government rests upon His shoulders.

Anchor your gaze in the King. Pull your expectations out of the dirt of natural forecasts, and align your confession with the reality of His throne. The Kingdom is not merely an idea you study; it is the governing reality that dictates your provision, secures your peace, and guarantees your tomorrow.
