The persecuted church calls us to stand in prayer today. The Word reminds us, “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” — 1 Timothy 2:1‑2

Our first prayer focus is for Pastor Samuel Karanja of the Nairobi Grace Fellowship, Kenya.

The Christian Solidarity Worldwide report of October 12 notes that Pastor Karanja was arrested by Kenyan authorities and detained without charge for preaching the gospel in a public park.

Father, grant Pastor Karanja steadfast courage, protect his family, and soften the hearts of those who would silence his voice.

In the name of Jesus, I decree that the chains of unjust detention are broken, that truth shall prevail in the courtroom, and that the gospel continues to flow through Nairobi unabated.

Our second prayer focus is for Bishop Liu Wei of the Chengdu House of Prayer, China.

According to a June 2026 article in the South China Morning Post, Bishop Liu’s church was raided, the sanctuary locked, and he was placed under house arrest, prohibited from gathering believers.

Lord, surround Bishop Liu with divine protection, strengthen his flock, and bring boldness to those who risk persecution for Christ.

In Jesus’ name I declare that the doors of the Chengdu House of Prayer are opened, that the Spirit moves powerfully among the believers, and that no earthly authority can extinguish the light of Christ there.

Our third prayer focus is for Rev. Ana María Torres of the Evangelical Community in Medellín, Colombia.

A Reuters investigation on October 5 reported that Rev. Torres was publicly accused of “subversive activity,” her home searched, and her ministry’s resources confiscated by local police.

Father, uphold Rev. Torres with your righteous shield, comfort her family, and bring wisdom to the officials so that justice may be restored.

In the name of Jesus I command that the accusations be nullified, that the confiscated resources be returned, and that the gospel in Medellín rise stronger than before.

Our fourth prayer focus is for Pastor David Osei of the Accra Hope Church, Ghana.

The Ghanaian Times on September 30 reported that Pastor Osei was fined heavily and threatened with imprisonment for refusing to remove a banner displaying the cross from his church’s front yard.

Lord, give Pastor Osei boldness to stand for the cross, protect his congregation, and turn the hearts of the city leaders toward your truth.

In Jesus’ name I decree that the fine be lifted, that any legal action against Pastor Osei be void, and that the cross on the church wall shines as a beacon of hope throughout Accra.

Our fifth prayer focus is for Sister Fatima Al-Mansouri, a Christian nurse in Baghdad, Iraq.

A June 2026 report by Al Jazeera highlighted that Sister Fatima was detained for providing medical care to Christian patients and for sharing Scripture with them in the hospital ward.

Father, surround Sister Fatima with your peace, grant her protection, and raise up advocates who will speak for her liberty.

In the name of Jesus I proclaim that Sister Fatima’s captivity is ended, that she is released unharmed, and that the spirit of compassion and truth spreads through the hospital corridors.
