Our walk with God is a process of growth, transformation, and deepening relationship in the Kingdom. At the heart of this journey lies the crucial call to embrace a life of surrender and obedience. This isn’t about blind submission, but a conscious and willing realignment of our will with God’s perfect will. This surrender and obedience are paramount to stepping into our God-given purpose, emphasizing the vital importance of responding to God’s voice with clarity and promptness, placing unwavering trust in His abundant provision, and gaining a clear understanding of our unique and significant role within the vast expanse of His kingdom. Through the illuminating lens of scripture, we gain profound insight into the transformative power that unfolds when we intentionally align ourselves with God’s divine plan, enabling us to move from a place of anxious striving and self-reliance to a place of deep rest, overflowing peace, and the experience of true fullness in Him.
A Call to Divine Purpose
God, in His infinite wisdom and love, calls each of us to a unique and purposeful role within His kingdom. We are not merely passive bystanders or accidental creations, but active and indispensable participants in the unfolding of His divine plan for humanity. Recognizing our inherent significance, understanding our unique design, and embracing the sphere of influence God intends for us to have are paramount to living a life that truly reflects His glory and accomplishes His intended purposes.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” 1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)
This verse emphasizes the importance of humility as the foundation for experiencing God’s exaltation. The “mighty hand of God” is often understood to represent His power, authority, and the various ways He works in our lives and in the world. As Ephesians 4:11-12 explains, God has gifted the church with specific ministries—apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers—for the equipping of the saints. These five ministries constitute a significant aspect of God’s “mighty hand” in action today. To “humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God” in this context means to adopt a posture of humility towards these God-given leaders and the equipping work they do. It calls for us to be open, teachable, and actively involved in the ongoing processes of discipleship, mentoring, and instruction that these ministries provide. It means recognizing that God has placed these individuals in positions of authority for our benefit and growth. Rejecting their guidance is, in a sense, rejecting God’s provision for our spiritual development, mirroring the rejection of Samuel, which God interpreted as a rejection of Himself (1 Samuel 8:7). When we humble ourselves, acknowledging our need for guidance and instruction, we position ourselves to be lifted up and promoted by God, in His perfect timing, into the fullness of our calling and purpose.
The Power of Writing – A New Ministry on the Horizon
While the five-fold ministry is foundational, there appears to be another vital ministry emerging with increasing prominence in our time: the ministry of writing. In Ezekiel 9, the prophet has a vision of six men coming from the heavenly realm. While the roles of the first five men are not detailed, the sixth man is distinguished by having a writer’s inkhorn at his side.
[Eze 9:2 KJV] 2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them [was] clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
This imagery suggests that writing is not merely a secular skill but a divinely ordained means of ministry, especially relevant in the end times. In Old Testament times, leadership was often characterized by the prophet/priest and the king. Jesus reconfigured this leadership paradigm by establishing the five-fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Given this precedent, it’s reasonable to consider that God may be expanding the ways He communicates and works through His people, highlighting the role of writing. In an age marked by an unprecedented increase in knowledge (Daniel 12:4) and the rapid dissemination of information, writing has emerged as an exceptionally powerful instrument for influence, education, and the propagation of truth. God may be stirring within you a unique gift and calling to write – whether it’s to author books, create compelling blog content, craft impactful articles, pen insightful poetry, or communicate profound truths through the written word. Do not dismiss this potential within you. Your unique experiences, your personal encounters with God, and the wisdom you’ve gained can touch lives and advance the kingdom in ways you may not yet fully comprehend. The “inkhorn” represents the tools and capacity to record, preserve, and disseminate God’s message, making this ministry crucial for this hour.

Turning the Mess into a Message
God, in His infinite grace and redemptive power, doesn’t waste any part of our lives, including our pain and suffering. He possesses an extraordinary ability to redeem and repurpose the broken pieces, transforming our past trials, tribulations, and even our deepest wounds into powerful testimonies that resonate with others and point them towards His healing and hope. What may appear to us as a landscape of ashes, a testament to loss and devastation, can be miraculously transformed by God into a beautiful garden, yielding fulfillment, purpose, and profound ministry from our deepest pains.
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)
This scripture speaks directly to God’s redemptive work in the lives of those who mourn. He doesn’t simply remove the pain; He transforms it. He takes the “ashes” – the residue of loss and sorrow – and creates “beauty.” He replaces “mourning” with the “oil of joy,” a symbol of celebration and gladness. He exchanges the “spirit of heaviness” – a sense of despair and oppression – for the “garment of praise,” an expression of gratitude and worship. As a result of this divine transformation, those who were once broken become “trees of righteousness,” strong and flourishing, planted by the Lord Himself. Their lives become a testament to His grace, and He is glorified through their stories. Our stories of overcoming adversity, of finding God’s presence in our darkest moments, and of experiencing His healing touch become powerful messages of hope and encouragement for others facing similar challenges. By sharing our “mess,” we unlock the potential for a powerful “message” that not only ministers to the hearts of those around us but also brings glory to God, showcasing His power to redeem and restore.
Stepping into a New Season
God is continually at work in our lives and in the world, moving us forward and ushering us into new seasons of growth, breakthrough, and abundant blessing. He is in the process of removing the old, the stagnant, and the hindering, making way for a fresh start, a time where the seeds of our obedience will germinate and produce a harvest far exceeding our expectations. This new season is often characterized by a sense of acceleration, divine favor, and unprecedented fruitfulness.
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.” Amos 9:13 (KJV)
This vivid prophetic imagery speaks of a time of extraordinary abundance and accelerated increase. The plowman, who is still preparing the ground for planting, will overtake the reaper, who is already harvesting the mature crop. In other words, the seeds you sow will produce a harvest before they hit the ground! Similarly, the one treading grapes will overtake the one sowing the seed, signifying a compressed timeline between sowing and reaping. The mountains dripping sweet wine and the hills melting suggest an overflowing of God’s goodness and provision throughout the land. This scripture encourages us to have expectant hearts, knowing that as we walk in obedience and align ourselves with God’s will, He is bringing forth a season of remarkable fruitfulness in our lives. The normal sequence of agricultural activity is divinely accelerated, symbolizing that the results of our obedience and labor will manifest more quickly and abundantly than we might naturally expect. It’s a picture of God’s blessing breaking through temporal limitations.
God’s Faithfulness and Our Response
It is of utmost importance that we do not allow the shadows of past disappointments, delays, or setbacks to cloud our vision of God’s unwavering promises. He remains eternally faithful to fulfill every word He has spoken. Our responsiveness to God’s leading and our obedience to His commands are directly related to the manifestation of His promises in our lives. Embracing the principle of immediate obedience unlocks the swift and powerful response of God.
“Jesus saith unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 (KJV)
This powerful statement from Jesus underscores the pivotal role of our belief in activating and releasing God’s limitless power in our lives. When we approach God with unwavering faith, fully persuaded and trusting in His ability and willingness to fulfill His promises, the realm of possibility expands exponentially. Our prompt and willing obedience is a tangible expression of this belief. When God speaks, our immediate response demonstrates our trust in His wisdom, our confidence in His character, and our commitment to His will. Delay or disobedience, on the other hand, can hinder the flow of His blessings and create obstacles to the fulfillment of His plans. Swift obedience aligns us with His perfect timing and opens the door for Him to work mightily on our behalf, removing hindrances and paving the way for the manifestation of His promises.
Called to Fullness
God’s ultimate desire and intention for each of us is to experience life in its fullness – a state characterized by overflowing joy, deep and lasting fulfillment, and the complete realization of our intended purpose. He longs to eradicate sorrow, pain, and lack from our lives and to saturate us with His abundant goodness, peace, and wholeness. Our part in this divine exchange is to open our hearts wide, creating ample space for Him to pour out His immeasurable blessings without restraint.
“Open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10b (KJV)
This simple yet profound instruction from God speaks to the importance of our receptivity and willingness to receive His abundant provision. Just as a bird opens its beak wide to receive nourishment, we are called to open our hearts and minds to the fullness that God desires to bestow upon us. This isn’t limited to material blessings; it encompasses every dimension of our being – spiritual, emotional, relational, mental, and physical. When we approach God with an open and expectant heart, believing in His generosity and His boundless capacity to bless, He promises to fill us to overflowing with His goodness, exceeding our needs, satisfying our deepest longings, and equipping us to live a life of purpose and impact. The degree to which we open ourselves to Him directly correlates to the measure to which He can fill us.
Financial Breakthrough
Finances are fundamental to provision, and breakthroughs needed to move forward in your destiny. God, in His wisdom and sovereignty, possesses the power and the desire to reveal to us the spiritual dynamics of how finances operate within His kingdom. His intention in blessing us financially extends far beyond mere personal comfort or selfish gain; He aims to equip us to become channels of blessing, generously supporting His work on earth and furthering His kingdom purposes. We are called to cultivate a deep trust in His provision, recognizing that He is the ultimate source of all wealth and abundance, and to remain consistently open and responsive to His specific guidance and direction regarding the management and use of our financial resources.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
This powerful and reassuring promise assures us that God, in His infinite riches and glory through Christ Jesus, will unfailingly meet all of our genuine needs. This is not a blanket guarantee of extravagant wealth for the pursuit of personal indulgence, but rather a comforting assurance that as we prioritize His kingdom, align our hearts with His purposes, and walk in obedience to His principles, He will faithfully provide everything we require to live a life of purpose and fulfill His calling. Understanding how money moves in the spirit involves seeking His wisdom on principles of stewardship, generosity, diligent work, and investing in eternal purposes. When our hearts are aligned with His, and we use our resources to advance His kingdom, we can trust in His unfailing provision to sustain us, empower our efforts, and enable us to be a blessing to others.
Reflection and Review
The central call that resonates with us today is to cultivate a deeper and more intimate understanding of our individual and collective roles within the grand tapestry of God’s redemptive plan. We are emphatically reminded that our identities are not defined or determined by the failures, limitations, or disappointments of our past, but are instead securely anchored in the boundless promises God holds for our future. We are actively encouraged to embrace our unique callings, whether they manifest in the potent and transformative act of writing, the courageous and vulnerable sharing of our personal testimonies, or stepping into arenas of financial blessing for the advancement of His kingdom. The fundamental key that unlocks these extraordinary possibilities is our unwavering commitment to respond to God’s voice with prompt and wholehearted obedience, coupled with a steadfast trust in His character and His Word, resting in the confident assurance that He is utterly faithful to lead us into a place of profound rest, abundant fullness, and the realization of our highest purpose in Him.
