Around 3:00 a.m. this morning, I woke up with this song echoing deep in my spirit again. Lying there in the darkness, I pressed play, and instantly the presence of God completely saturated the room. It felt as though He was waiting—just waiting for me to open my eyes. He rushed in and laid His hand over me. In an instant, I was undone. Overwhelmed. Entirely out of my depth.

“I hear your voice calling, calling
And I’m gonna fix my eyes on Jesus.
Walking with the One who walks on the sea…”

In that moment, I could feel the water shifting beneath my feet. My body swayed with the waves’ swell, His hand resting on my shoulder. His head bowed toward me with a quiet, gracious smile. He probably remembered the first time He walked on the water (when no one was watching, He was only practicing…) He began speaking to me without words, sharing insights about the “Arc of Revival” in church history, the thoughts echoing in my spirit like singing in a cathedral. He conveyed how, during the Israelites’ time in the wilderness, their movements mirrored moves of God throughout history. When Israel faced trouble, scandal, and difficulty, these things happened when they camped IN BETWEEN MOVES OF GOD. Are you listening?  Spiritually speaking, as the church as a journey like the wilderness wanderings, following different emerging moves of God when they subsequently waned, then institutions would be formed, trying to keep the wine in a deteriorating wineskin, and invariably that’s when the flood of scandal, carnality, selfishness would crop up and the church would languish again, till the CLOUD MOVED. Till the Pillar of Fire moved. I hope I’m conveying this and how deeply it resonated.

“I’m gonna give my life to follow,
Speak to me, and I’ll go wherever You lead…”

Wherever He goes. Wherever He leads. That is where I must be.

“My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof!”

What an anthem for what God is doing across the earth right now. With tears streaming down my face, I tell you: even if I never speak another prophetic word on this side of eternity, hear this—an awakening, a sovereign visitation, and an outpouring is ahead. It’s breaking forth. He’s waiting for our EYES TO OPEN, and He will RUSH TO US and EMBRACE US, coaxing us out on the waves where He’s been waiting for us FOR YOU for a VERY LONG TIME.

It will cost everything, yet it will be worth immeasurably more.
