Never come before a prophet with idols in your heart. King Ahab looked for a prophet to tell him smooth things and the Lord sent a lying spirit into the mouth of the prophet and Ahab was destroyed. In Ezekiel 14:7 the Lord declares that when a person sets up idols in their heart God will speak to that person according to the idols in their heart and they will be destroyed. What is an idol? Idolatry is looking to man for what you should be looking to God for. An idol is ANY outward dependency for Jesus said (Luke 17:21) that the kingdom is IN YOU. The kingdom that is not in you is IDOLATRY. The Pharisees didn’t understand this and crucified their king as a result. Lord set our hearts to worship you and not allow ANYTHING to capture our hearts that does not originate in you.
