DAILY INTERCESSOR’S UPDATE

Bulletin: Special Prayers Called for FHM

Good morning, beloved partners in prayer. I am glad to be sitting with you again this morning, just as we are, in the quiet steadiness of the Holy Spirit. We do not need to be anxious about the chaos we see on the news; we simply need to be faithful in bringing it to the Father. As Paul instructs us in 1 Timothy 2:1–2, we are called to make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for all people, and specifically for those in high places, so that we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness. This is our assignment, and it is a beautiful one.

“Prayer is the engine of the world.”

— J.C. Ryle
> “Prayer is more than a means of obtaining an answer; it is a means of obtaining a new heart.”
> — Oswald Chamber

Our first prayer focus is the recent legislative push in Texas to restrict the teaching of critical race theory in public school curricula.

The Houston Chronicle reported last week that the state board of education has finalized a new rule prohibiting the discussion of systemic bias in third-grade history classes, effective immediately for the upcoming term. This decision has sparked significant debate among educators and parents across the state regarding the balance between political neutrality and historical accuracy in the classroom.

Father, I ask for wisdom and clarity for the educators in Texas who are navigating these new guidelines. Grant them the grace to teach truth with integrity and compassion, ensuring that students are equipped with a solid foundation in history that honors both biblical principles and factual accuracy.

I decree in the name of Jesus that confusion will not prevail in our schools. I speak peace, understanding, and truthful instruction into every classroom in Texas, and I declare that the minds of our children will be kept safe and sound under Your protection.

Our second prayer focus is the ongoing conflict over water rights in the Colorado River basin involving the state of Arizona.

According to reporting from the Arizona Republic, officials announced on Tuesday that the state is preparing for a mandatory 15% reduction in water allocations for agricultural use due to the river’s record-low levels, a change that will impact thousands of farms in the Phoenix area. This shift marks a significant escalation in the management of the region’s most critical resource.

Lord, I bring the farmers and families of Arizona before You. I ask for Your provision and guidance as they face these difficult economic and logistical changes. Please provide for their needs and give them the strength to adapt with dignity and resilience, knowing that You are the source of living water.

In the name of Jesus, I decree that scarcity will not bring despair to the people of Arizona. I speak abundance and sustainable provision into the agricultural communities of the region, and I declare that Your grace is sufficient for every challenge they face.

Our third prayer focus is the recent expansion of digital privacy laws in the European Union affecting technology companies based in Dublin.

Bloomberg News reported on Monday that the European Data Protection Board has issued a formal warning to three major tech firms headquartered in Ireland, citing non-compliance with new cross-border data transfer regulations that come into full effect this month. This action highlights the growing tension between global tech operations and regional privacy standards.

Father, I pray for the leaders and employees of these organizations in Dublin. I ask for the spirit of integrity and transparency to guide their decisions, ensuring that they handle data with the respect and care it deserves. I pray for clarity in the regulatory process so that justice is served without unnecessary harm to innovation.

I decree in Jesus’ name that integrity will characterize the business practices of our partners in Dublin. I speak against deception and negligence, and I declare that truth and fairness will prevail in all their dealings, bringing glory to Your name.

Our fourth prayer focus is the recent appointment of a new justice to the Supreme Court of Canada.

CBC News confirmed on Thursday that the Prime Minister has officially nominated a former provincial appellate judge to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court, a decision that has drawn immediate attention from civil liberty groups across the country. The nomination is expected to face a rigorous confirmation process in the Senate in the coming weeks.

Lord, I bring this new justice and the entire Canadian judiciary before You. I ask for the fear of the Lord to rest upon them, guiding their judgments with fairness, equity, and a deep respect for human dignity. I pray that their decisions will reflect the values of justice and mercy that You hold dear.

In the name of Jesus, I decree that the courts of Canada will be centers of righteousness and peace. I speak against bias and partiality, and I declare that every case brought before them will be handled with integrity, bringing honor to the rule of law.

Our fifth prayer focus is the recent breakthrough in medical research at Johns Hopkins University regarding early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Baltimore Sun reported on Friday that researchers at Johns Hopkins have published a new study showing a 40% improvement in the accuracy of a new blood test for identifying early-stage Alzheimer’s, a development that could revolutionize treatment options for patients in the United States. This finding offers new hope for early intervention and better planning for affected families.

Father, I thank You for the gift of medical science and for the wisdom You have given to the researchers at Johns Hopkins. I pray for the patients and families who are awaiting these new diagnostic tools, that they would find comfort and hope in this progress. I ask for continued guidance as they work to make this test accessible to those who need it most.

I decree in Jesus’ name that healing and understanding will come to those affected by Alzheimer’s. I speak breakthrough in medical research and compassion in patient care, and I declare that Your peace will guard the hearts of every family dealing with this diagnosis.
