Daily Intercessor’s Update — September 24, 2026
Good morning, my friends. It is a privilege to sit with you again this morning. We are gathered here in spirit, united by a common purpose that transcends our individual circumstances. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to Timothy, gives us a clear and simple mandate that anchors our daily work. He writes in 1 Timothy 2:1–2, “I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people; for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.” This is our charge. We do not pray merely for our own comfort, but for the stability of nations, the safety of believers, and the extension of God’s Kingdom on earth.
Our first prayer focus is on the moral foundations of our nation and the integrity of our judicial system. Reports from legal advocacy groups indicate that multiple state courts are facing unprecedented pressure to reinterpret constitutional protections regarding the free exercise of religion. There is a concerted effort to blur the lines between secular governance and religious expression, potentially limiting the ability of faith-based organizations to operate according to their convictions. This is not just a legal battle; it is a spiritual battleground for the soul of our country.
Father, we bring this nation before You. We ask for wisdom for our judges, our governors, and our legislators. Grant them the courage to uphold the law as it was intended, protecting the liberty of conscience for every citizen. We pray for a revival of moral clarity in the public square, where truth is not sacrificed for political expediency. Steady the hands of those who lead, and let Your justice be rolled out like waters.
I decree against any spirit of confusion, deception, or suppression that seeks to undermine the God-ordained order of our land. In the name of Jesus, I break every assignment of chaos and moral relativism that would erode the foundations of our society. We stand firm in the truth that God’s laws are immutable, and we declare that liberty of conscience shall not be infringed.
Our second prayer focus is on the persecuted church in Nigeria, where the threat to Christian life remains severe. Recent dispatches from humanitarian aid organizations report a continued rise in violent incidents targeting rural congregations, particularly in the middle belt regions. Families are being displaced, and there is a pervasive sense of fear that is hindering the ability of believers to gather in peace. This crisis requires our urgent attention and unyielding intercession.
Lord, we lift up every believer in Nigeria who is facing threats to their life and livelihood. We ask for Your physical protection over their families and their communities. Provide for their immediate needs—food, shelter, and medical care—and give them the supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray for the courage of local pastors and leaders to continue preaching the Gospel despite the danger, knowing that You are with them.
I speak to every spirit of violence, hatred, and terror that operates in this region. In the name of Jesus, I dismantle these demonic assignments. I declare that the blood of the martyrs is a seed for the church, and no power on earth or in hell can stop the spread of the Kingdom. We command the atmosphere to be filled with Your peace, and we declare that our brothers and sisters are hidden in the secret place of the Most High.
Our third prayer focus is on the geopolitical tension in the Middle East, specifically regarding regional security and economic stability. Analysts are reporting increased military posturing along key trade routes, with significant concerns about the potential for a wider conflict that could disrupt global energy supplies and supply chains. The threat of instability in this region has far-reaching implications for the global economy and the safety of millions of people.
Heavenly Father, we bring the leaders of these nations before You. We ask for restraint, for wisdom, and for a desire for genuine peace. We pray that You would turn their hearts toward one another and toward You, preventing the escalation of conflict that would bring widespread suffering. We ask for economic stability and the protection of trade routes, so that people may have what they need to survive and thrive.
I declare against any spirit of war, greed, or exploitation that seeks to profit from human suffering in this region. In the name of Jesus, I break every chain of political manipulation and military aggression. We decree that peace shall reign in this area, and that the influence of the Kingdom of God shall be seen in the hearts of leaders and citizens alike.
Our fourth prayer focus is on the church in China, where the pressure to conform to state ideology continues to intensify. Underground church leaders are reporting increased surveillance and restrictions on gatherings, with a growing number of believers being detained for their faith. There is a persistent campaign to erase Christian identity from public life, forcing believers into secrecy and isolation. This is a critical time for the church to stand firm in its identity and mission.
Lord, we pray for the underground church in China. We ask for Your presence in every hidden gathering, in every home where the Word is shared. We pray for spiritual strength and unity among the believers, that they may not be divided by fear or isolation. We ask for the protection of those who are detained, and for their release when it is in accordance with Your will. We pray that the Gospel would continue to spread, even in the face of such opposition.
I stand against every spirit of oppression, surveillance, and erasure that seeks to silence the voice of the Church in China. In the name of Jesus, I break every demon of fear and conformity. I declare that the truth of the Gospel is indomitable, and that the Church in China shall continue to grow, bearing fruit in every hidden place. Your light cannot be extinguished.
Our fifth prayer focus is on the communities recovering from the recent series of severe storms in the southeastern United States. Relief agencies are reporting that many families are still without power, and that the damage to homes and infrastructure is extensive. The emotional toll of displacement and loss is weighing heavily on these communities, and there is a need for sustained support and hope.
Father, we bring these communities before You. We ask for Your comfort to every family who has lost their home or loved ones. We pray for the swift restoration of essential services and for the provision of resources to rebuild. We ask for healing for the broken hearts and for a renewed sense of community and hope. We pray that Your presence would be felt in every home, bringing peace and restoration.
I decree against every spirit of despair, abandonment, and destruction that has touched these communities. In the name of Jesus, I break the power of disaster and bring about restoration. I declare that these communities shall rise again, stronger and more united than before. Your love is the foundation upon which they shall rebuild, and Your grace shall be sufficient for every need.
