Today’s assignment is Domestic United States issues. The Scripture calls us to intercede for those in authority and for all people:

Our first prayer focus is for Phoenix, Arizona, where the Arizona Republic reported on October 13, 2026, that the Arizona State Legislature passed Senate Bill 2985 restricting the teaching of evolution in public high schools.

Father, grant wisdom and humility to the legislators so that truth and the wonder of God’s creation are honored in every classroom.

In the name of Jesus I decree that the Spirit of discernment will guide every educator and lawmaker, that the biblical account of creation will be taught alongside scientific study, and that no law will suppress the proclamation of God’s handiwork.

Our second prayer focus is for Detroit, Michigan, where the Detroit Free Press reported on October 12, 2026, that the Michigan Department of Health announced a shortage of nurses in the city’s public hospitals, leaving many patients without adequate care.

Lord, provide a surge of compassionate, skilled nurses to serve the sick in Detroit, and stir the hearts of those called to the medical profession to answer this need.

In Jesus’ name I command that divine provision will open doors for recruitment, training, and retention of nursing staff, and that every patient will receive the care they deserve, protected from neglect.

Our third prayer focus is for Austin, Texas, where the Austin American‑Statesman reported on October 11, 2026, that the Austin City Council voted to close a historic downtown park that has long been a gathering place for family picnics and community worship.

Father, soften the hearts of the council members so they recognize the park’s value as a God‑granted place of fellowship, recreation, and spiritual renewal for families.

In the authority of Christ I declare that the park will remain open, that the council will seek alternative solutions that preserve this blessed space, and that the community will continue to enjoy its benefits.

Our fourth prayer focus is for Charleston, South Carolina, where CNN reported on October 10, 2026, that a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction against a state law that would have prohibited the display of the Ten Commandments on public property.

Jesus, uphold the truth of God’s law and grant the judge steadfastness to protect religious liberty, that the nation may honor the Scriptures in the public square.

In the name of the Almighty I decree that the injunction will stand, that the Ten Commandments will be displayed where lawfully permitted, and that all who seek to suppress God’s Word will be rebuked.

Our fifth prayer focus is for Boise, Idaho, where the Idaho Statesman reported on October 9, 2026, that the Boise School District announced the removal of a student‑led Bible study club after a parent complaint citing “religious discrimination.”

Lord, restore the right of students to gather in His name, and soften the hearts of the district leaders to recognize the importance of spiritual formation for young people.

In Jesus’ name I command that the Bible study club be reinstated, that the district will protect the freedom of worship for its students, and that a spirit of respect for religious expression will permeate the schools.
