Today:[Exodus Chapter Twenty-Five (Continued)] Who is Your Covering? God’s instructs Moses concerning the Mercy Seat. The word for Mercy Seat is Kaphoret (Covering). Who is your covering? There is much misunderstanding about this idea of covering in the bible and it has been used to dominate women and subordinate congregations to dictatorial leaders. In the construction of the ark of the covenant the LID (kaphoret/covering) was a covering of mercy and not manipulative control.
