The Hearing of Faith Releases the Miraculous
“He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” — Galatians 3:5 (KJV)
Have you ever stopped to realize that God is not holding out on you?
Too many precious believers are wearing themselves out trying to convince God to move. They are fasting until they are blue in the face, begging, crying, pleading, and trying to qualify for a miracle by their own human performance. They think, “If I just pray one more hour, if I just do everything right, maybe God will see fit to heal my body or meet my financial need.”
That kind of thinking and effort is nothing in the world but trying to receive by the works of the law!
The Apostle Paul asked the church in Galatia a straightforward question, and the Holy Ghost is asking the Body of Christ the exact same question today: How does God minister the Spirit and work miracles among you? Is it by your striving, your human effort, and your religious checklist? Or is it by the hearing of faith?
The answer is plain: God’s supernatural power is released through the hearing of faith!
1. Faith Comes by Hearing
Romans 10:17 tells us, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Notice it doesn’t say faith comes by having heard twenty years ago. It says faith comes by hearing—present tense, continuous action!
Faith is not a mental assent or an intellectual concept; it is a living spiritual force. When you feed your spirit with the uncompromised Word of God, spiritual capacity rises on the inside of you. You cannot operate in dynamic faith on yesterday’s revelation any more than you can run a marathon on a meal you ate last month.
If you need a miracle in your body, stop meditating on the symptoms. Stop listening to the bad report of the world. Put your eyes and ears on the Word. Incline your ear unto His sayings (Proverbs 4:20–22), for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh!
2. Works of the Law vs. The Law of Faith
The natural mind always wants to earn God’s blessings. The religious mind says, “Look at what I have done for God.” But true faith simply says, “Look at what Jesus has already done for me!”
When you operate in the “works of the law” mentality, you are looking at your own ability. When you operate in faith, you are looking at the finished work of Calvary and the covenant integrity of Almighty God.
God is a covenant-keeping God. He cannot lie (Titus 1:2). Heaven and earth will pass away, but His Word will never fail. When God speaks, the power to bring it to pass is in the Word itself. But that power is activated in your life through one channel: believing and acting on what you have heard.
3. Hearing Produces Believing, and Believing Speaks!
Real biblical hearing doesn’t stop at the ear canal—the hearing of faith drops deep into the human spirit, produces unshakable conviction, and demands expression!
Second Corinthians 4:13 declares: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”
You cannot separate the hearing of faith from the speaking of faith.
-
Faith in your heart put into words on your lips becomes the creative power of God in your life.
-
When you hear the Word that “by His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24), faith says: “Father, I receive my healing right now. Sickness, you have no right in this body. In Jesus’ Name, I am whole!”
-
When you hear that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19), faith says: “Lack is broken off my life. I am blessed, and whatsoever I put my hand to shall prosper!”
God’s Word is creative power. That spiritual power is in the Word, but it will not work for you until you speak it in faith.
4. How to Put the Hearing of Faith to Work Today
If you are standing in need of a breakthrough—whether in your health, finances, family, or ministry—here is your scriptural blueprint:
-
Locate the Scriptures for Your Need: Settle it once and for all that God’s will is His Word.
-
Immerse Your Ears in the Word: Read it aloud, listen to anointed teaching, and meditate day and night. Faith comes by hearing!
-
Refuse Doubt and Unbelief: Cast down every imagination and symptom that exalts itself against the Word of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
-
Make Your Bold Confession: Align your tongue with God’s promises. Don’t talk about the mountain; speak to the mountain in faith (Mark 11:23)!
-
Give Praise in Advance: Act like the Word is true before you see the physical manifestation. Faith calls those things which be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).
The Verdict Is In
God is ready and willing to minister the Spirit and work mighty miracles in your life today. The tap of Heaven’s power is wide open.
Lay aside the religious struggle. Stop trying to earn what has already been purchased by the precious Blood of Jesus. Open your spiritual ears to the Word, let faith arise, speak the victory, and receive the miracle that belongs to you through the hearing of faith!
Daily Confession of Faith:
“Father, I thank You that You are ministering Your Spirit and working miracles in my life today. I choose to walk by faith and not by sight. I incline my ear to Your Word, and faith is rising in my heart right now. I declare that every covenant promise is mine, and by the hearing and doing of faith, I possess my victory in Jesus’ Name. Amen!”
