Precisely the Prophetic, Part 23

Chapter Nine – Seymour Signs and Wonders (cont)

That initial breakthrough established our business not just to feed people but to preach, teach, and prophesy about the goodness of God. The term “marketplace ministry” wasn’t around at that time, but that is precisely what I was walking in. People would come in our doors, turn and say to me, “I have never been in here before,” and I would say, “well why are you in here today”? They would reply with, “I don’t know something just told me to stop here today,” and with that, I would say, “well I have a pretty good idea so let’s just visit a little bit.” I would then get acquainted with them and listen to what the Holy Spirit had to say, and they responded beautifully. One day, I had a full dining room, and I did not have another server, so it was just myself out there with 52 seats. I would turn in orders in by clipping them on the wheel positioned on the pass through between the dining area and the kitchen and say “order,” and when the foods were ready they would yell “pick up, pick up” and so I would bring the food out to the people.

One day I walked up to this table by the window on the highway side, and this elderly gentleman and his wife are sitting in the booth, and I said, “May I help you?” I was talking through a somewhat hurried tone because I had a full dining room and no backup. The old fellow looked up at me with anguish in his eyes “you a preacher ain’t ya”? And I said “yes sir I am,” He replied “well then you better pray” and as soon as he said those words I saw a dark cloud over this man’s head with my spiritual eyes, and I knew instantly it was a spirit of death. I said “Sir, come with me, ma’am come with me” I was in a hurry because of all the customers, but the prompting of the Holy Ghost gave me no other option but to take the time to minister to this forlorn little papa.

I led the couple through the swinging café doors, through the kitchen, back by the noisy chicken fryer we had at the time and I asked him “Sir what has happened to you recently that you wish to die”? And then his wife just started sobbing, and he starts to cry, and he exclaimed, “I recently retired, and nobody wants me, and nobody needs me for anything. I’m so desperate, and I don’t know what to do”. Speaking by the inspiration of God, I shot back “Sir, you have children”? He replies, “Yes” I question him again, “you have grandchildren?” And he says, “Yes.” So, I said, “you can’t die, you have to live to declare the goodness of God to your children and grandchildren. You have an assignment, and I break the curse of death over you in the name of Jesus Christ, and I set you free from the bondage of death, and you will live and not die, and you will declare the works of the Lord!

The entire conversation took about 90 seconds and all the while the bell was ringing, and the staff knows I’m back there, but the bell is ringing “pick up pick up pick up,” and after a few seconds I just turned to the two cooks and said, “take the food out”! Obeying God took precedence over anything else, and the result averted a tragedy for that little family. Another example was regarding woman contemplating suicide. She dropped in, and I got to speak with her and share the good news of Jesus Christ. In my restaurant, I had gospel tracts on my tables, from End-Time Handmaidens. In eight years, 35,000 “Who is Jesus” pamphlets went out the door, taken because people were hungry to know the truth. Some people would look up, and they’d have their food before them, and I would see from across the dining room that they would have tears running down their face. Sometimes I would speak to them if I was prompted, and if not, I would let the Word do the work and lives were changed.

One morning I woke about 6 AM with these words sounding off in my spirit “get up and pray. Judy is suicidal.” I knew the voice of God when I heard it and replied, “yes, sir!” I hurried out of bed and started praying and taking authority over the situation. As soon as I got around to finishing that prayer, the Lord told me to call her. I picked up the phone and rang Judy’s number: “Judy, it’s Kitty, the thing you have in your heart to do is not of God, the enemy is trying to take you out right before you get the dream of a lifetime coming true to you! I take authority over that spirit of death and the curse of death that is trying to come over you, and I set you free in the name of Jesus”.

On the other end of the line, Judy is sobbing and sobbing. “What are you doing Judy”? She said, “I was sitting here by the side of my bed planning my suicide, and I was trying to figure out how to do it so that my dad wouldn’t be so upset and distraught.” I spoke life and hope to her in the name of the Lord, and she realized what a mistake it was and she got set free from that. Judy was 58 at that time and was a spinster. She was a single child, had never been married, and was a farm girl who had always helped her parents on the farm. Her mother had passed, and her daddy was living with her, and she was caring for him and working at the market. Well, in a matter of a few months a man came to town in Missouri who was from Connecticut, and he fell head over heels in love with Judy, and Judy fell in love with him, and so her highest heart’s desire was satisfied such a blessing.
