When Jesus appeared to John on Patmos, John had been tortured for his faith and experienced several failed attempts to execute him, including boiling in oil, and yet he went on to be the only apostle who died a natural death. What is the message he carried? That in God you have the power to overcome, and that word means to “subdue, prevail, conquer and get the victory!” When God told Adam to “tend and to keep” the garden, the wording there means to subdue. To bend creation to Adam’s will. This is what reigning in Christ means. Go out in your day and be empowered to subdue everything in your life that doesn’t originate in God!
