Daily Intercessor’s Update — September 25, 2026

Good morning, friends. It is a privilege to sit with you in the quiet before the day begins. I want to remind us of the clear instruction we find in 1 Timothy 2:1–2, where Paul urges us to make intercessions, prayers, and thanksgivings for all people, for kings, and for all who are in high positions. This is not a suggestion; it is a mandate. Our standing in the throne room of God has a direct impact on the stability of nations and the peace of our communities. We do not pray just to feel good; we pray because the enemy is active, and the Kingdom of God is advancing. We stand in the gap with confidence, knowing that our God is on the throne.
Our first prayer focus is on the judicial and religious liberty landscape in the United States. Reports indicate that several state supreme courts are currently deliberating on cases that could redefine the scope of religious exemptions for faith-based organizations regarding hiring practices and public accommodations. There is a palpable tension in the legal system as secular humanist influences push to marginalize biblical moral standards in public policy. We need clarity and protection for the Church’s voice in the public square.
Father, we lift up the judges, the attorneys, and the citizens of our nation. We ask for Your wisdom to guide the gavel. Protect the constitutional right to free exercise of religion. Let Your truth be recognized as the foundation for a just society. We stand against the erosion of moral boundaries and we ask that You would grant favor to those who seek to uphold the law while honoring Your commandments.
In the name of Jesus, we break the assignment of judicial oppression and the demon of secular relativism that seeks to silence the Church. We declare that the Kingdom of God is not bound by human legislation. The authority of heaven stands above the authority of earth. We silence the lies of the enemy and we establish the peace of God in the halls of justice.
Our second prayer focus is on the frontline churches in Nigeria. Open Doors reports that violence against Christian communities in the middle belt and the northwest has intensified, with specific attacks on congregations during evening services. Families are being displaced, and there is a breakdown in local security that leaves believers vulnerable to ambush. The need for immediate physical protection and long-term reconciliation is critical.
Lord, we desperately cry out for the safety of Your children in Nigeria. We ask You to be a wall of fire around them. We pray for the police and military forces to have the divine guidance to distinguish between the innocent and the aggressors. We ask for supernatural peace to settle in their hearts despite the chaos surrounding them. We pray for the restoration of families and the rebuilding of their homes.
In Jesus’ name, we rebuke the spirit of murder and the demonic alliance that fuels ethnic and religious hatred. We break the power of the weapon and the ambush. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every believer in that region. No weapon formed against them shall prosper. We command the chaos to cease and we establish the peace of God in their streets.
Our third prayer focus is on the geopolitical instability in the Middle East, particularly regarding the security of supply lines and regional alliances. International news agencies are reporting heightened tensions along the Red Sea shipping lanes, with increased drone activity that threatens global economic stability. This flashpoint has the potential to escalate into a broader regional conflict that would impact energy prices and trade routes worldwide.
Father, we bring this tension before You. We ask for Your hand to restrain the hands of war. We pray for the leaders in this region to seek peace over profit and power. We ask that You would protect the crews on the ships and the families on the ground from the fallout of military escalation. Grant wisdom to diplomats and leaders to de-escalate before it is too late.
In the name of Jesus, we break the demon of greed that drives nations to war. We dissolve the strategic alliances formed in darkness to destroy the peace of the world. We declare that the sword of the Spirit is sharper than any two-edged sword. We command the conflict to end and we establish Your kingdom of peace in this region.
Our fourth prayer focus is on the persecution of the Church in China. Underground church leaders are reporting a new wave of pressure from local authorities, including the forced closure of house churches and the increased surveillance of believers’ digital communications. The Church is being driven deeper underground, but the faith remains strong. The need is for spiritual resilience and safe channels of communication.
Lord, we lift up the underground Church in China. We ask for Your protection over their meetings and their families. We pray for the wisdom of the Spirit to guide their leaders in navigating the dangers of surveillance. We ask for the gospel to remain vibrant and true, even in the shadows. We pray for the hearts of the Chinese people to be softened toward the truth.
In Jesus’ name, we break the spirit of intimidation and the demon of control that seeks to silence the Word of God. We dissolve the power of the surveillance state to harm the innocent. We declare that the Church is not of this world and cannot be contained by walls or wires. The Word of God is alive and active, and it cannot be stopped.
Our fifth prayer focus is on the humanitarian crisis in the aftermath of the recent earthquakes in the Pacific Rim. Relief organizations are reporting that the destruction of infrastructure has isolated entire communities, making it difficult to deliver medical aid and clean water. The risk of disease is high, and the psychological trauma is profound. The need is for sustained recovery efforts and emotional healing.
Father, we look to You as the Great Physician and the Restorer. We ask for Your provision to meet every physical need of these survivors. We pray for the healing of broken bones and the mending of broken hearts. We ask for the local churches to be the first responders of compassion, bringing hope to those who have lost everything. We pray for safety from aftershocks and for the rebuilding process to be swift and effective.
In Jesus’ name, we break the curse of disaster and the demon of despair. We command the earth to be stable and the waters to be clean. We declare that life in abundance is the portion of those who trust in You. We establish a community of resilience and hope in this broken place.
