DAILY INTERCESSOR’S UPDATE
Today we stand for the household, the nation, the family, the church, and the nations.
“First of all I urge that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all who are in authority— that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2. May the Spirit guide our hearts as we lift these prayers before the throne.
“Prayer changes the heart more than the circumstances.”
— A. W. Tozer
01 · The Household
Anxiety over rising costs and job uncertainty.
The report: Families across the country are feeling the pressure of higher grocery prices, fuel costs, and a tightening job market. Many report sleepless nights as they try to balance bills and provide for their children.
Pray
Father, give each household a deep sense of your provision and peace that steadies the mind amid financial stress.
We decree
In the name of Jesus, I declare that every family will experience your faithful supply and that anxiety will be replaced with confidence in your unchanging care.
02 · The Nation
Honest ballots and peaceful polling places for the November 3 midterm elections.
The report: As the midterm election approaches, concerns grow about the integrity of voting systems and the safety of voters at the polls. Reports from local news outlets note heightened tension in several precincts.
Pray
Lord, protect every voter, poll worker, and election official, and grant wisdom to those overseeing the process so that every vote is counted fairly.
We decree
In Jesus’ name, I decree that the election will be conducted with honesty, that peace will reign at every polling place, and that the outcomes will reflect your righteous will for the nation.
03 · The Family
Parents seeking wisdom to raise children in a shifting culture.
The report: Parents are navigating a cultural landscape that often conflicts with biblical values, especially in schools and media. Many feel isolated and uncertain about how to guide their children.
Pray
Father, grant parents discernment and the courage to lead their homes with biblical truth, and surround them with godly counsel.
We decree
In the name of Jesus, I declare that families will be rooted in Christ, that children will grow in love for the gospel, and that parental authority will be honored.
04 · The Church
Protection over believers, children, and the spiritual climate this week.
The report: Churches continue to face challenges from hostile environments, including threats to safety and spiritual attacks. Pastors and volunteers are feeling weary from constant vigilance.
Pray
Lord, shield every congregation, especially the children and vulnerable members, and refresh the spirits of those who labor in your name.
We decree
In Jesus’ name, I decree that the church will stand firm, that divine protection will surround every gathering, and that a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit will empower believers.
05 · The Nations
The starving and besieged people of El Fasher and Kordofan, Sudan.
The report: Ongoing conflict has left the people of El Fasher and the wider Kordofan region without sufficient food, clean water, or medical care. Humanitarian agencies report worsening famine conditions.
Pray
Father, provide relief to the hungry, deliver the besieged, and open channels for aid to reach those in desperate need.
We decree
In the name of Jesus, I declare that famine will be broken, that peace will return to the region, and that the church in Sudan will be strengthened to minister to its people.
