DAILY INTERCESSOR’S UPDATE
The dominion of Christ over every seat of authority is our charge today. Scripture reminds us, “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people… that kings and all who are in authority may be led to a sound and peaceful life” (1 Timothy 2:1‑2).
“Prayer is the breath of the soul, the pulse of the church.”
— A. W. Tozer
“When believers unite in prayer, heaven leans in to hear.”
— John Wesley
Our first prayer focus is for the city council of Phoenix, Arizona, where the Arizona Republic reported on October 21, 2026, that a proposed ordinance would allow the removal of religious symbols from public parks.
Father, we ask that You would soften the hearts of those council members, that they would recognize the biblical principle that “there is no fear in love” (1 John 4:18) and see the value of preserving God‑honored symbols in the public square.
In the name of Jesus we decree that every council meeting concerning this ordinance is under the Lordship of Christ; that any motion to remove biblical monuments is halted, and that the council affirms the freedom to display God’s truth in public spaces.
Our second prayer focus is for the United States District Court in Dallas, Texas, where the Dallas Morning News reported on October 20, 2026, that a federal judge scheduled a hearing on a case seeking to block a Christian school’s charter renewal over its statement of faith.
Father, grant the judge wisdom rooted in Scripture, that the judgment will reflect the biblical mandate to “let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14) and protect the school’s right to teach biblical truth.
In Jesus’ name we command that the charter be restored, that the school may continue to nurture young hearts for Christ, and that any legal attempt to suppress its testimony is rendered ineffective.
Our third prayer focus is for the BBC World Service, which on October 19, 2026, published a segment noting a surge in anti‑Christian rhetoric on a popular European streaming platform that has begun to demonize biblical content as “hate speech.”
Lord, we pray that the executives and policy makers behind the platform would be convicted of the truth that “the truth will set you free” (John 8:32) and would cease the censorship of biblical expression.
In the authority of Jesus we declare that the platform’s policies are submitted to Christ’s lordship; that any algorithmic removal of Scripture‑based programming is stopped, and that the platform re‑affirms the right to share the Gospel openly.
Our fourth prayer focus is for the International Monetary Fund, where Bloomberg reported on October 18, 2026, that a new financial directive is being drafted that could restrict charitable giving to faith‑based organizations in several developing nations.
Father, cause the IMF leaders to understand that “the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10) and that generosity to the Kingdom should be protected, not penalized.
In Jesus’ name we decree that the directive be revised to safeguard donations to churches and Christian charities, that funds may flow freely to support the work of the Gospel, and that any attempt to hinder such giving is nullified.
Our fifth prayer focus is for the Vatican City’s Secretariat of State, where the Catholic News Agency reported on October 17, 2026, that a draft concordat with a Southeast Asian nation includes language that would limit the Church’s ability to minister to the poor without state approval.
Lord, we ask that the Holy Father and his advisors be guided by the words of Christ, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matt 25:40), and that they will stand firm for the Church’s mission.
In the name of Jesus we command that the concordat be amended to guarantee the Church’s unconditional right to serve the needy, that any clause restricting ministry is removed, and that the Church’s dominion to love and feed the hungry remains unchallenged.
