Our theme today is Domestic United States issues. The Scripture reminds us of our calling:

Our first prayer focus is for the city of Detroit, Michigan, where the Detroit Free Press reported on October 8, 2026, that the city council voted to cut funding for several public school libraries, affecting over 12,000 students.

Father, grant wisdom and compassion to the council members that they may recognize the vital role of Scripture and sound teaching in the education of our youth.

In the name of Jesus, we decree that the funding for public school libraries in Detroit shall be restored and increased, that every child may have access to godly literature and truth.

Our second prayer focus is for the state of Texas, where The Texas Tribune on October 7, 2026, noted a proposed bill that would restrict the display of the Ten Commandments on state‑owned property.

Lord, soften the hearts of the legislators and guide them to uphold the biblical foundations of law and morality that protect our nation.

In Jesus’ name we declare that any attempt to remove the Ten Commandments from public spaces in Texas will be halted, and that truth will continue to be honored in the public square.

Our third prayer focus is for the city of Phoenix, Arizona, reported by Arizona Republic on October 6, 2026, that a federal judge issued a temporary injunction against a local church’s right to hold outdoor worship services due to zoning complaints.

Father, intervene with divine favor so that the court recognizes the church’s right to worship freely and that the injunction is lifted.

We speak the authority of Christ over Phoenix’s courts, declaring that the church may worship openly outdoors without legal hindrance, and that the city’s zoning ordinances will be applied justly.

Our fourth prayer focus is for the state of Florida, where Miami Herald on October 5, 2026, reported that the Department of Education announced new guidelines limiting the teaching of creation science in public schools.

Lord, inspire educators and policymakers to honor God’s design in the curriculum and to present creation as the true origin of life.

In Jesus’ name we command that Florida’s educational guidelines be revised to include a balanced, biblical perspective on origins, allowing teachers to teach creation science alongside other subjects.

Our fifth prayer focus is for the city of Nashville, Tennessee, reported by The Tennessean on October 4, 2026, that a city ordinance was introduced to prohibit the display of religious symbols on public property, citing concerns of separation of church and state.

Father, bring clarity to the legislators that true separation protects both church and state, and that religious expression is a protected liberty.

We decree in the name of Christ that Nashville’s ordinance will be amended to safeguard the constitutional right to display religious symbols on public property, affirming religious liberty for all.
