Our theme today is Global Issues. The Scripture reminds us of our calling:

Our first prayer focus is for the city of Kyiv, Ukraine, reported by BBC News on October 7, 2026, which noted that Russian shelling damaged three major hospitals, leaving hundreds of civilians without adequate medical care.

Father, we ask that you bring swift healing to the wounded and restore the facilities so that the sick may receive care. May your merciful hand protect the medical staff and bring peace to the city’s streets.

In the name of Jesus we decree that the wounds of these hospitals are closed, that divine provision supplies all needed equipment, and that a hedge of protection surrounds every patient and caregiver in Kyiv.

Our second prayer focus is for the nation of Ethiopia, reported by Al Jazeera on October 5, 2026, where the government announced the release of 15 Christian pastors who had been detained for preaching without a permit.

Lord, we thank you for the freedom granted to these shepherds and pray that their ministries may flourish without further hindrance. Strengthen the believers there to stand firm in truth.

In Jesus’ name we command that any unjust restrictions on preaching be removed, that the Gospel may flow freely throughout Ethiopia, and that the hearts of leaders be softened toward true worship.

Our third prayer focus is for the city of Lagos, Nigeria, reported by The Guardian Nigeria on October 6, 2026, which recorded a violent clash between security forces and a peaceful Christian demonstration, resulting in the arrest of 22 participants.

Father, we plead for the safety of those arrested and for the swift release of the innocent. Bring calm to the streets and grant wisdom to the authorities to handle dissent with justice.

In the name of Christ we declare that the chains of unlawful detention are broken, that every detained believer is released, and that peace reigns over Lagos.

Our fourth prayer focus is for the nation of Brazil, reported by Reuters on October 4, 2026, which highlighted the passage of a new law that imposes heavy taxes on imported Bibles, threatening the distribution of Scripture to remote congregations.

Lord, we ask that you raise up godly leaders who will repeal this burden and protect the free flow of Your Word. May believers receive the Scriptures they need without obstacle.

In Jesus’ authority we proclaim that the tax on imported Bibles is nullified, that distributors receive divine provision, and that the Word continues to reach every corner of Brazil unhindered.

Our fifth prayer focus is for the city of Shanghai, China, reported by The Wall Street Journal on October 3, 2026, which disclosed that authorities closed a house‑church meeting place that had been serving over 200 believers.

Father, we pray for those who have lost their gathering space, that you would provide a new safe haven for worship. Strengthen the believers’ faith amid persecution and grant them boldness to witness.

In the name of the risen Christ we decree that the spirit of worship cannot be confined; a new place of fellowship is opened, protected by your angels, and the believers in Shanghai continue to grow in love and truth.
