The dominion of Christ calls us to stand firm that His authority reigns over every sphere where darkness seeks to assert influence. As Paul exhorts the church, “I urge then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may lead quiet and tranquil lives in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1‑2).

Our first prayer focus is for the City Council of Springfield, Missouri, reported by The Springfield News-Leader on October 4, 2026, which voted to approve a zoning change that would allow a large commercial development on land adjacent to a historic church cemetery.

Father, grant wisdom to each council member that they honor the sacredness of the ground where saints have rested, and that the proposed development be redirected to preserve the holy site.

In the name of Jesus we decree that no plan may proceed which desecrates the cemetery; the land shall be protected, and the council’s deliberations be guided by reverence for God’s people and their heritage.

Our second prayer focus is for Governor Laura Hernández of Texas, reported by The Texas Tribune on October 5, 2026, after she signed an executive order permitting the placement of “public safety” cameras in all public schools without parental consent.

Lord, soften Governor Hernández’s heart to the biblical principle that the family is the primary sphere of instruction, and that any measure infringing on parental rights be reconsidered in light of Scripture.

In Jesus’ name we command that the executive order be nullified; all surveillance measures in public schools shall require explicit parental approval and be limited to protecting life, not violating liberty.

Our third prayer focus is for the editorial board of The New York Times, noted on October 6, 2026, when the paper published an op‑ed piece suggesting that the “concept of biblical truth is outdated in a pluralistic society.”

Almighty Father, illuminate the hearts of those editors with the truth that God’s Word is timeless, and that the press may report with integrity, honoring the authority of Scripture.

In the authority of Christ we declare that any future articles that distort or dismiss biblical truth shall be halted, and that the newspaper’s coverage will be balanced with respect for the Gospel’s enduring relevance.

Our fourth prayer focus is for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reported by Financial Times on October 2, 2026, which announced a new loan package to a nation whose leadership has been actively suppressing Christian worship and imprisoning believers.

Sovereign God, stir the conscience of the IMF’s decision‑makers so that financial aid is not used to enable persecution, but instead conditioned upon genuine religious liberty for the nation’s citizens.

In Jesus’ name we decree that the loan agreement be amended to include strict protections for the free practice of faith, and that any funds tied to oppression be withdrawn immediately.

Our fifth prayer focus is for the Supreme Court of the Philippines, reported by ABS‑CBN News on October 3, 2026, where a petition was filed to overturn a law that protects the right of churches to own and operate schools without government interference.

Father, grant the justices discernment to uphold the constitutional guarantee of religious freedom, and to recognize the vital role of faith‑based education in society.

In the name of the Lord Jesus we command that the petition be denied, that the law protecting church‑run schools remains intact, and that the Court affirms the dominion of Christ over the education of the young.
