DAILY INTERCESSOR’S UPDATE
Today, we stand firm in the truth that Jesus Christ is King, reigning over every throne, court, and capital on earth. The mandate of Scripture is clear: we are to make supplication, prayer, intercession, and thanksgiving for all men, and for kings and all who are in high authority. It is not to be done with fear, but with the settled assurance that His dominion is absolute. As we pray for the nations, we do so knowing that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of the living God.
“Prayer is the key of the morning and the bolt of the night.”
— Charles Spurgeon
“The end of prayer is not to change God, but to change us.”
— John Calvin
Our first prayer focus is for the legal proceedings in The Hague, Netherlands, concerning the International Criminal Court’s jurisdiction over global justice.
Reuters reported that prosecutors at the International Criminal Court have continued to finalize indictments regarding conflicts in the Middle East, seeking to hold high-ranking officials accountable for alleged war crimes. This development places the court at the center of intense diplomatic pressure, as various nations debate the legitimacy and reach of its rulings on sovereign leaders.
Father, we bring this institution before Your throne. We ask that You guide the judges and prosecutors with Your perfect justice, ensuring that truth is not twisted by political expediency. We pray for the integrity of the court so that it serves the cause of peace and righteousness, not the agendas of empires.
We decree that the Lordship of Christ is higher than any international tribunal. We declare that Your judgment is true and righteous, and that no human court can overrule the moral law written on the heart. In Jesus’ name, we stand.
Our second prayer focus is for the legislative body in Washington, D.C., as they navigate debates on religious liberty protections.
The Associated Press noted that congressional committees are currently reviewing bills that would strengthen protections for religious organizations against state mandates that conflict with their doctrinal beliefs. This legislative session is critical, as the outcome will determine the legal standing of faith-based institutions in public life for the coming decade.
Lord, we pray for the members of Congress as they deliberate. We ask for the spirit of wisdom and discernment to rest upon those who write the laws. Grant them the courage to uphold the First Amendment and to recognize that the church exists independent of the state, yet in service to your Kingdom.
We decree that the authority of the Church is derived solely from Christ, the Head of the Body. We reject any secular power that seeks to dictate the conscience of believers or to control the internal governance of the Church. In Jesus’ name, we stand.
Our third prayer focus is for the educational institutions in London, United Kingdom, where debates over curriculum standards continue to intensify.
BBC News reported that several major universities have faced internal petitions regarding the inclusion of certain historical narratives in their history and political science departments. These discussions highlight a broader tension between academic freedom and the desire for communities to have a shared understanding of truth and heritage.
Father, we lift up the teachers, students, and administrators in these institutions. We ask that You would give them a hunger for the truth that is not merely relative or shifting, but grounded in the unchanging character of God. We pray for the protection of those who seek to teach with integrity and for the hearts of students who are searching for meaning.
We decree that the Word of God is the final authority in matters of truth. We command that confusion and division be replaced by the peace that comes from knowing the Truth. In Jesus’ name, we stand.
Our fourth prayer focus is for the financial sector in New York, United States, where regulatory shifts are impacting ethical investment practices.
Bloomberg reported that major asset management firms are updating their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, moving away from vague social mandates and toward measurable financial and ethical standards. This shift is altering how capital is allocated across global markets, influencing which industries and nations receive investment.
Lord, we pray for the leaders in the financial world. We ask that You would influence their decisions so that capital is used to build up, not tear down. We pray for wisdom in stewardship, that resources might be used to honor Your name and to bless the poor and the vulnerable.
We decree that every dollar is a tool for Your Kingdom. We command that greed and exploitation be removed from the marketplace, and that integrity and generosity flow through the hands of business leaders. In Jesus’ name, we stand.
Our fifth prayer focus is for the media centers in Tokyo, Japan, where digital platforms are adjusting to new content moderation laws.
Nikkei Asia reported that major tech companies operating in Japan are implementing stricter automated content filters in response to new government guidelines aimed at reducing misinformation. These changes are affecting how news is distributed and how public discourse is shaped in one of the world’s most connected societies.
Father, we bring the media landscape before You. We pray for the journalists and editors who seek to report the truth with fairness. We ask for protection against the pressure to conform to secular narratives that deny the sovereignty of Christ. We pray for the hearts of the audience, that they might discern truth from error.
We decree that the Gospel is the only good news that truly matters. We command that the power of the cross silence the noise of the world and draw all people to the feet of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, we stand.
