What Are You Saying to Your Dry Bones?

In Ezekiel 37, God takes Ezekiel in a vision and shows him a valley filled with the bones of slain soldiers. He then asks, “Can these bones live?” Ezekiel replies, “Lord, you know…” What were the bones a representation of? In Ezekiel’s prophecies, the destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity of the people is predicted in great detail. What God is asking Ezekiel is regarding the future restoration of the nation. After showing Ezekiel these things, he is commanded to prophesy:

Ezekiel 37:4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

Can you imagine having a conversation with something inanimate? Jesus talked to a tree one time in Mar. 11:4:

[Mar 11:14 KJV] 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard [it].

What is the lesson? The bones Ezekiel saw stood up a very great army after he prophesied over them. The fig tree Jesus talked to obeyed Him and dried up from the roots. What are you saying to the dead things, the unproductive things in your life?

The lesson for us is that Jesus demonstrates for us that inanimate things will listen to you. Your circumstance will listen to you. The problem you are facing will listen to you. What are you saying to your mountain? What are you saying to the valley of dry bones before you? Ezekiel didn’t prophesy, “You bones sure are dead and dry…” No, He spoke the thing desired. Don’t speak your problem; speak your faith. Pray the end result. Just as the bones obeyed Ezekiel and the fig tree obeyed Jesus; your problem will obey you. That’s how faith works. Open your mouth and speak your faith today.
