1 Thessalonians
To fully comprehend the nature of God, it is necessary to accept the fact that He can be displeased and, in fact, wrathful. For the believer, however, we have a sure promise of mercy:
[1Th 5:9 KJV] 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
When Israel was in Goshen, they witnessed God’s wrath on Egypt, a world empire at the time. They saw calamity come all around them, but not one hair of their heads was harmed as they came out with a great deliverance. The same is true for us today. We are witnesses of God’s wrath to which we, as believers, are not appointed. The darkness in the world may seem bleak, but our promise amid darkness is as “morning spread on the mountains!”
