Learning to Negotiate with God

In 1 Chron. 21:9-10 David is presented three options from the Lord through the prophet Gad. This points to the fact that many things in our life are negotiable with God. Another example is Jacob the morning after he dreamed of the ladder between heaven and earth. He negotiated with God about his future and God heard him and responded. What about you? God is not an inflexible God. He invites us to reason with Him and in so doing massive blessings can come into our lives. I learned this 25 years ago and have walked out in the years since the fruit of those negotiations. It isn’t about promising God foolish things. He cannot be manipulated and we have nothing in ourselves to offer beyond the merits of the Cross. Negotiating with God is about realizing that He is a loving father who wants us to engage with Him regarding the affairs of our lives.
