Did you know there is a “Suddenly-at-Land” experience available to you in God? In life’s journey, we often find ourselves navigating through trials and uncertainties. It’s during these times that we need to anchor ourselves in faith and remember that God’s plans for us are far greater than we can imagine. Just as a skilled craftsman refines a precious jewel through heat and pressure, God uses our challenges to mold us into the people He created us to be.
Choosing Faith in Uncertain Times
“You get to choose,” the Lord declares. In our walk with God, there are moments when we feel the weight of decisions and the uncertainty of the path ahead. It’s easy to become fixated on the “razor’s edge” of what we perceive to be God’s exact will. However, God reminds us of His promise to the Old Testament saints: “Put your hand to something, and I am going to bless it” (paraphrase of Deuteronomy 11:24).
It’s crucial to remember that while God has a plan, He died for you, not the plan. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end“ (Jeremiah 29:11). Even when our steps don’t seem to align with our expectations, God is working behind the scenes. He is not going to leave you where you are, and He will not relent until the test becomes a testimony.
Steadfastness and Humility: Our Weapons
“Stand fast” (1 Corinthians 16:13) in the assignment God has given you, aligned with His Word. Our willingness to be steadfast and determined to please Him is a sacrifice that delights the Lord. In times of struggle, the enemy may use pride to bring contention. “Only by pride cometh contention” (Proverbs 13:10). But “God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace unto the humble” (1 Peter 5:5).
Humility is our weapon. Like the Children of Israel crossing the Jordan River, which means “to go low,” we are crossing over into a new season. “You have dwelt long enough in this mountain” (paraphrase of Deuteronomy 1:6). God is untangling the tests in our lives to give us a testimony of His glory. He will give us favor with those we need to have favor with, and He will open doors that will provide multiple choices.
Pressure and Breakthrough
We may feel tremendous pressure, but the Lord reminds us, “It is through much tribulation, you enter the kingdom” (Acts 14:22). Tribulation means pressure. Stay linear in your decision-making, focusing on Jesus, just as Peter did when walking on water. “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him“ (Matthew 14:30-31).
Our “suddenly at land experience” is near. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). God is faithful, and He is molding us into the person He created us to be. “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son” (Romans 8:29).
The Power of Declaration and Expectancy
“Be a declarer” in your prayer life. Decree God’s promises against the opposition of the enemy. “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee” (Job 22:28). Surrender your future to Him, and trust that He will lead you every step of the way. “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5).
Release the pressure to control, and let God open and close doors. “I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it” (Revelation 3:8). Cultivate your inner landscape through His Word and prayer. “He that ruleth his spirit is better than he that taketh a city” (Proverbs 16:32). God sets the solitary in families and sends co-laborers to encourage us. “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” (Ecclesiastes 4:9).
Occupational Redemption and Divine Favor
God will cause you to walk in “occupational redemption,” where your work aligns with His kingdom. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23). He is preparing a specific opportunity for you, one that aligns with your gifts and purpose. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them“ (Ephesians 2:10).
God’s favor is not dependent on your strength but on His faithfulness. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6). Expectancy is key. “The expectation of the righteous shall be gladness” (Proverbs 10:28). Prepare for the new doors He is about to open. “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).

Remember, God’s love for us is steadfast, and He is always working behind the scenes to bring about our breakthrough.
