On Dec. 5, the Daily Prophetic Word referenced “treasuries of the snow.” Someone asked a question about that, and while I don’t usually try to teach out of a prophetic word, I thought this was worthwhile.
Most people don’t read Job very much; I consider it one of my favorites (after Ecclesiastes!). Have you ever pondered the words of Job 38:22? “Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow?” This seemingly simple verse opens the door to a world of mystery and wonder. Pure and pristine snow symbolizes the cleansing of our hearts through faith. But beyond its earthly manifestation, the Bible and the book of Enoch unveil a deeper meaning hidden within “terrible storehouses” of ice and “treasure houses” of dew.

The Awesome Power of God
Imagine vast crystal structures guarding the potential for a deluge. These “terrible storehouses” represent the awesome power of God, a power that holds back unimaginable destruction. Yet, nestled within this icy realm, we find a beacon of hope: a “treasure house of dew” shimmering with the colors of earthly flowers. This house, like precious oil, signifies a blessing, a source of empowerment and understanding.
Symbolism of Life and Hope
Think of the symbolism. Flowers represent life, beauty, and God’s abundant creation. Even amidst the potential for chaos, this treasure house reminds us that love and grace bloom eternally. Just as olive oil anointed kings, this dew might have empowered Enoch, a testament to God’s transformative touch.
Beyond the Physical
The “treasuries of the snow” are not just a reference to the physical phenomenon of snowfall. They represent the hidden realms of God’s power and the potential for both judgment and redemption. Just as Job was humbled by God’s questions, we are invited to ponder the mysteries of the universe and our place within it.
Lessons for Today
The “terrible storehouses” serve as a reminder of God’s ultimate authority and the consequences of sin. The “treasure house of dew” speaks to his unending love and the possibility of transformation. As we navigate life’s challenges, may we remember both the power and the grace of our Creator.
Let the Questions Linger
The “treasuries of the snow” offer more than definitive answers; they invite us into a deeper exploration of faith and the unknown. May we remain curious, open to the mysteries of God’s creation, and ever seeking a closer relationship with our Heavenly Father.
