Morning Light – September 6th, 2017 – Ezekiel 41: You are a Priest of God

Morning Light – Ezekiel 41
Today: [Ezekiel 41] You are a Priest of God. In this chapter of Ezekiel, we see a further extrapolation of the restoration temple as a reflection of who God is in you and who you are in God. In this temple design we see profound links of human agency in the form of wooden inlay throughout that tells us that God does not live in buildings or chalices or a consecrated host but rather makes His dwelling place in the human heart as His chosen habitation.

[Eze 41:1-26 KJV] 1 Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, [which was] the breadth of the tabernacle. 2 And the breadth of the door [was] ten cubits; and the sides of the door [were] five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits: and the breadth, twenty cubits. 3 Then went he inward, and measured the post of the door, two cubits; and the door, six cubits; and the breadth of the door, seven cubits. 4 So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This [is] the most holy [place]. 5 After he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the breadth of [every] side chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side. 6 And the side chambers [were] three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which [was] of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house. 7 And [there was] an enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house [was still] upward, and so increased [from] the lowest [chamber] to the highest by the midst. 8 I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers [were] a full reed of six great cubits. 9 The thickness of the wall, which [was] for the side chamber without, [was] five cubits: and [that] which [was] left [was] the place of the side chambers that [were] within. 10 And between the chambers [was] the wideness of twenty cubits round about the house on every side. 11 And the doors of the side chambers [were] toward [the place that was] left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left [was] five cubits round about. 12 Now the building that [was] before the separate place at the end toward the west [was] seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building [was] five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.
In this chapter the measurements and configuration of Ezekiel’s temple also known as the restoration temple is continued. Verse 1 describes the main hall or nave of the central building which is identical with Solomon’s temple according to 1 Kings 6:17. This is the heart of traffic in the central concourse of the temple and is 6 x 6 x 6 cubits in measurement. This is a representation of your heart or ribcage symbolically being the main hall where your heart is contained, 6 being the number of man in 3 dimensions of triune connection with the glory of God that inhabits the inmost court of this restoration temple.
The number 6 is very important as it is also the Hebrew letter “vav” which is also translated “and” such as Gen. 1:1 “in the beginning God created the heavens AND (vav) the earth…” The glyph for the letter “vav” which doubles as the Hebrew number 6 is a pictogram of a tent stake and is also a Semitic symbol for priesthood (the tent stake being seen as that which brought heaven and earth together). In ancient times water was considered sacred and every map that referenced water wells were marked with this glyph speaking of priesthood (for instance Ex. 2:16 tells us that Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law was the priest of the wells of Midian). This gives us an understanding of the priesthood of the believer and the symbolic priesthood intended to serve in the restoration temple). Jesus is our priest and we are kings and priests unto God. Jesus understood all of this when He taught that His Spirit in you was as a well of living water and has made us (Rev. 1:6) kings and priests unto God. You are a priest not just generally but specifically over the well of living what that was placed in you through the new birth. Very little has been taught on this in the church.
13 So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long; 14 Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits. 15 And he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which [was] behind it, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of the court; 16 The door posts, and the narrow windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the door, cieled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows [were] covered; 17 To that above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure. 18 And [it was] made with cherubims and palm trees, so that a palm tree [was] between a cherub and a cherub; and [every] cherub had two faces; 19 So that the face of a man [was] toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side: [it was] made through all the house round about. 20 From the ground unto above the door [were] cherubims and palm trees made, and [on] the wall of the temple. 21 The posts of the temple [were] squared, [and] the face of the sanctuary; the appearance [of the one] as the appearance [of the other]. 22 The altar of wood [was] three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, [were] of wood: and he said unto me, This [is] the table that [is] before the LORD. 23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors. 24 And the doors had two leaves [apiece], two turning leaves; two [leaves] for the one door, and two leaves for the other [door]. 25 And [there were] made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubims and palm trees, like as [were] made upon the walls; and [there were] thick planks upon the face of the porch without. 26 And [there were] narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and [upon] the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.
Verse 12 tells us that the building on the temple ground referenced hear is 70 cubits square on one side and 100 cubits square on the other. 70 is a number connected with discipleship. Jesus led the 12, the 70, and the 5000. The 12 were his most trusted disciples, the 70 were dedicated followers and the 5000 were the multitude who received the ministrations of Jesus, the 12 and the 70. This again is the picture of the 30, 60 and 100-fold dimensions of experience in Christ. The multitude ministry is the 5000 and speaks to us of the 30-fold experience in God. The 70 represents the 60 fold priesthood who stand in the Holy place ministering at the altar of incense, the table of showbread and the golden lampstand of the truth of God and the light of God. The 12 is the 100 fold realm who have access the inmost court, where the ark of the Covenant representative of who God is on the inside of the human heart, where we go in and out in the deepest level of intimacy with God on this side of eternity.
In verse 16 we see everything in this chamber is covered with wood round about which speaks of humanity and the place of human agency in the most holy aspects of the dwelling place of God in the earth. God’s Spirit does not inhabit buildings or ornate golden receptacles in a host made and sanctified by separated clerics as in the Catholic church. The host is not a wafer – the host is who YOU are in your person. It is in you all of this majesty and structure and holy accouterments are placed. All speaks of God telling you in these chapters that this is who you are in God and who He is in you. Angels are also present in the form of cherubim in proximity to palm trees. The palm tree speaks of prophetic office. Prophetic office is mentioned exponentially more times in scripture than any other of the 5-fold ministries including the pastor and the apostles. Angels are intimately connected with the prophetic as they were with Daniel, the angels were assigned to bring understanding and fulfillment to the words of the prophets in a way that does not evidence itself in connection with any other of the 5-fold ministry. Every one of us should have a prophetic ministry connect to us in pursuit of the fulfillment of the destined purpose for which God has ordained us.
