All of this speaks to us of Christ and introduces the thought of currency as connected with the Kingdom. What is the currency of the Kingdom and how do we spend it? There is a lava for washing provided also which speaks of the washing of God’s word. The priests were to wash themselves before proceeding deeper into the holy place “that they die not”. They didn’t wash each other. There wasn’t a “washing attendant” provided they had to wash themselves. We leave the washing of the word to our pastors and leaders but it is our job to wash ourselves.
