Morning Light – Ezekiel 20 Today: [Ezekiel 20] Are You Capable of Repentance? In Ezekiel 20 a group of elders come to inquire of Ezekiel. The prophet knows that the leaders before him are convinced that they have done nothing to warrant the rigors of captivity that they have been suffering. They feel they have fulfilled all that God expects and now they want an explanation as to why God hasn’t delivered them yet. Instead Ezekiel recites the history of the people’s disobediences and demands the elders to repent of their own idolatry. In the end, the elders completely don’t understand what is being said because they are absolutely entrenched in their own self-righteousness. Morning Light – Ezekiel 19 Today: [Ezekiel 19] Where are the Natural Descendants of Jesus? In Ez. 19 the prophet writes a lamentation for the line of the princes of David. There were four final kings in Jerusalem who sprang from godly king Josiah’s line. Each in turn were workers of ungodliness and finally in Zedekiah’s line that rule of the lineage of David came to an end. What light then does that shed on the promise of God to maintain the line of David forever? We then look in this study at what became of the line of David and answer the question as to whether any such surviving members of Jesus’ natural bloodline remain yet today.
